Normal night on 18 Boy tour 3. A shooting, stabbing, a few drunks. Just before quitting time we get a call for an unconscious on the street. We hurry over and lo and behold our unconscious is a drunk on the sidewalk. We drag the stretcher out, plop him on top of it. He turns to me and says in a gruff but proud voice "I am Russian!". He grabs my hand forcefully but not really threatening and yells again "I AM RUSSIAN!". I say "Ok, no problem we are going to bring you somewhere to get a little sleep" He answers "I am Russian"again. I takes his vitals. They're fine. I tell my partner "We're g ..read more

Just finished a message session with an old friend from The Bronx's Little Italy who returned back to the homeland about 30 years ago. He said: That while some doctors are having to deal with the situation of choosing who is treated and who is not, it is mostly occurring mostly in the hard hit region of Lombardy in the North. Central and Southern Italy are seeing less infections; That a hospital in Castellammare was closed after a woman in labor was brought to the hospital and subsequently tested positive for Covis 19. Much of the hospital were thus infected and brought down by the virus ..read more

So it appears that there has been some success in treating the corona virus. The antimalarial chloroquine with the antibiotic azithromycin are showing some promise in the treatment of those affected by the virus. It appears that the anti inflammatory effects of azithromycin were beneficial in the cure. The United States Must Relax Sanctions on Iran
Medic Stories

The United States brought greater economic sanctions to Iran last Tuesday. This economic chokehold, onerous in normal times can be catastrophic in times such as these when a pandemic is threatening to cause death and devastation on a scale that mankind has not seen in 100 years. Americas problem is with the Iranian government and not with its people who already labor each day under a theocracy that is anachronistic in thought and brutal in behavior. Members of the government live well, enjoy the fruits of being in charge while the people live "in chronic despair". These are they whom the sanct ..read more

Italy took the drastic step over a week ago of locking down its entire country to halt the spread of coronavirus. The problem is that it really doesn't seem to be stemming the tide of cases and especially the death rate. Italy currently has an astonishing case fatality rate. Each day brings 300+ plus deaths including a surprising total of 475 deaths yesterday. Italy, a nation of 60 million people has almost the same amount of deaths as China with 1.5 billion.
