Live Work Breathe

We’ve all met difficult people at work. Sometimes there are people we just can’t seem to get along with. Most of the time this isn’t a problem as we have a choice over who we spend time with. But in the workplace it’s another matter. It’s part of the job. And we can’t choose our co-workers. Somehow you get drawn in, they know your triggers and seem to stress you out all the more.  Because you know they upset you or stress you out, you find yourself mulling things over afterwards, a spiral of dark thoughts and negativity. Or you start to anticipate when something will happen. Making you mo ..read more

Live Work Breathe

“Hi, I have hearing loss” I get many different reactions when I tell people that I’m deaf. Most are surprised “but you speak so well” or “I never would have known” is a common response, but spoken like its a complement, a pat on the head, Well done you. It seems like hearing loss is a good thing to be able to hide. Hearing aids are getting smaller and smaller, invisible aids that fit in the ear canal to go with an invisible disablity. Neither seen or heard. When I first got my bone anchored hearing aid I was told “at least you have long hair, you can’t see it at all” It seemed obvious to anyon ..read more

It’s something that everyone wants, yet finding work/life balance seems elusive, another impossible goal. At some point most of us feel like we are too busy but not seeming to get anywhere. Are you suffering from the hamster wheel effect or are you juggling everything and hoping nothing breaks. Finding work/life balance seems like yet another thing to do, another task on the never ending ‘to do’ list. The problem is that we can’t see the wood for the trees. Life coaching is about empowering people to create positive change in their life. But how does real change happen? Why do some people seem to succeed whilst others struggle? And when is the best time to get support? Any life change or goal involves a change in behaviour. All our behaviour, even the negative type, serves a purpose. Otherwise we wouldn’t have followed that pattern in the first place. Behaviour that has served us in the past keeps repeating even through it isn’t always in our best interests any more. It’s become a habit. Breaking habits and making change happen takes practis ..read more
