Have you ever felt the pain of a woman who has abandoned herself? this pain is sharp, deep and excruciating! it Pierces your heart like a hot knife pierces butter. I describe it so well cos I have felt that pain and became familiar with it. This pain is even more popular among women, especially after the birth of a child or several children. you see, motherhood comes with a lot of demands and mothers keep giving until we get to the point where we are drained, and even in that state, we give some more, and we never get replenished, we just keep giving from that empty state and before we know it ..read more

Hey Folks, (mamas especially), can you remember the feeling of being young, and by yourself with near limitless energy? ( i certainly remember and it feels like a lifetime ago). of waking up excited, alert and being able to maintain that momentum throughout the day, without a mini version of you to think about getting ready for the day, what they will eat today, what activities to engage them in so they don’t end up watching TV for 10 hours of the day (That also happens!) Took a relaxing trip to the mountains, and oh, wasn’t it just beautiful and exciting. If you know me well, you’ll know that ever since I relocated to Canada (4.5 Years ago), I have not left my city. This happened not by my own doing but by the complexities of being a new mom over and over again, finding a job, keeping a job and just yearning for more generally. So this year came and in the company of friends, we planned and executed the trip in under 2 weeks. It was just a road trip so why are you making is such a big deal? (rolling eyes). Well, it is a big deal because we had 3 families with ..read more

What a year it has been, no Kidding. 2020 was the year we all looked forward to, made affirmations about, and then shortly into the year, we had a global pandemic (whew!). let’s just say we all know how it’s been ever since. If that wasn’t enough, we had a racial crisis as well (sigh). The revolution began, the black lives matter movement waxed stronger, gained momentum, the world shook, and many people became more aware. Sending bright vibes around If anything, all these have just been energy draining for me and made me just retreat into a quiet corner. I yearned for answers, searched for mea ..read more

Who would have thought at the beginning of the year that before the end of the first quarter the world would be having a pandemic? Even if someone said it out loud, we would have laughed it off saying they were insane, but here we are, with all corners of d globe, feeling this uncertainty. Still we smile At the beginning of the lockdown, I was grateful for it. I had been on a roll and never really got time to rest for months at a time cos of the busy schedule I chose to have. Right now, the reality of the pandemic has set in, I have no idea what devastating impact this will have on a lot of us ..read more

I clock 31 today and I cant help but think back at the last 30 years of my life. i feel super grateful and I’ve developed a habit where every year, i take beautiful pictures and feel good about myself. (I’m not sure how or why I started this, but it gives me joy and I’m making a habit of whatever brings me joy). In the first ten years of my life, I really do not remember much, except that my parents held the wheels and gave me a solid foundation in the best way they could afford. in my second decade, by age 13, i started getting curious about a lot of things, still this decade was mostly in ..read more

Started the year on a high note cos in December, I was already having conversations with myself about my monthly goals and to-dos and how I’m going to do this and that. As the first and second week of January rolled by really quickly, it seemed to have sapped out my energy as my energy level declined at a faster rate than it picked up despite how well I rested during the holiday. posing like the trophy that I amI started settling into the ‘mellow spirit’ saying this year is all about rest and going at my pace. But something struck me. There’s a difference between going at your pace, and ..read more

Happy new year beautiful people. How are we in 2020 already? Lately, the years just keep zooming by. Maybe it’s a thing about getting older? Where the years just fly by, and before we know it, we’re celebrating another Christmas. Whew! It’s hard to keep up. planner by @paperpenieIn this regard, I’m being intentional with my goals this year, going beyond getting shiny new planners and eating healthy only in the first week of January. All that mentality is shifting and here’s how you can set intentional goals and work towards them. First, review the goals for last year! If 2019 was a good yea ..read more

I spoke at the Career day for immigrant girls at Edmonton Mennonite Center for newcomers on Thursday 12th December 2019, I was a guest speaker at the Edmonton Mennonite Center for newcomers, at the “Career day for immigrant girls”. I was thrilled when I first got the invite because I am a motivational speaker and a coach (at least in my head, for now). Speaking has always been one of my talents and even though I have never had any formal speaking engagement in the past, I gladly accepted the invitation to be an official speaker at this noble program. The EMCN helps to resettle newcomers to ..read more
