There was a reactivity to the situation we all found ourselves in across the world with the Covid 19 pandemic. Many local churches have been building-centric, but the pandemic has put paid to that which I don’t think is all bad! Many churches discovered Zoom and other online platforms for the first time ever to engage in online church. An unexpected benefit was that they discovered there are more p ..read more

The world has changed. The Christian mission has not. The gospel is about transformation yet many of us are not prepared to change. I'll briefly discusses what you need to consider to adjust to a new norm. If you are running a ministry or a local church and need help with a new strategies get in touch. Details below. The world has changed, however, our Christian mission has not. Yet, the gospel is about transformation, so how can we adjust in the current environment? Here are some concepts to discuss, and perhaps take action on. HEART MIND ACTIONS Most agree, it’s easier to keep doing what we ..read more

There's never been a more crucial time to address customer experience in your organisation. That’s because in this day and age consumers have never had so much power to vote with their feet. Therefore, if you're part of a corporation, a solopreneur, run a small business, charity a non-profit or even a local church, you're not immune to the power of people's choice. INSTANT EVERYTHING In Western society there has been a proliferation of the penchant for instant answers, results and gratification. I call this the microwave society! For example, the ability to express ones self in 140 characters ..read more

There is a song I used to dance to in my heyday! It is called Changin by Brass Construction. The first line went something like, ‘times are changing, change with times……’ Well, times are not changing, they have already changed! There are so many examples of societal, economic, and political change we could talk about. Indeed, whole books have been written about the subject. Yes, things have changed since the days of my youth. Hopefully I will demonstrate here, why it is imperative to be aware of changes in thinking and approach if you work for yourself, run a company, head up a non-profit org ..read more

We are entered another decade. Welcome and congratulations! Whether you are running a business, ministry or non-profit, the second decade of this century has been riddled with frustrations towards objectives. For example, looking back on in the periods between 2010 and 2019, you will note the turmoil which occurred in the political, economic and even the faith world. My message here is about your faith, and how even with obstacles we can be overcomers. RUNNING THROUGH THE RAIN There is a story I heard which demonstrates the kind of mustard seed faith we all need especially when the situation ..read more

Are you Martha or Mary and does it matter?

I don’t believe Jesus was telling Martha that what she was doing was unnecessary. In 21st century culture, particularly in the Western world, we have so many distractions that sometimes we forget the essentials. For example, when you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing you do? I know that many check their social media status, text messages or WhatsApp. Others get up and may attend to family life, children, breakfast, pack lunch, shower, school runs, transit to work, etc. However, what is missing from all these activities is being in God’s presence. I have heard people say they are ..read more

CATCH A FISH AND CLEAN IT

Once you evangelise how do you disciple? ONLY JESUS CAN DO THE CLEANING? Recently I released a post on social media by a Dr contact of mine which stated: 'Once you catch a fish, you need to clean it'. My Dr contact was referring to evangelism absent of following through on practical discipleship. ONLY JESUS CAN DO THE CLEANING? Several respondents to my social media post seemed to believe that only Jesus should do the cleaning. I agree, only He can sanctify through the Holy Spirit and we must never forgot or undermine this. However, Matthew 28: 19 reminds us to 'make disciples'. So what shoul ..read more

FROM SEED TO SEEDLING TO PLANT

Exodus 23:30 says Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. Be patient, respect the process!!! They did not know you were a seed! Remember Joseph was buried in a pit? His brothers never thought he would rise out of his situation. Indeed they probably thought and would die. The lesson here is that sometimes we need to trust the process. God had a plan and purpose for Joseph, exactly the way He has for each of us. Joseph's difficult journey was necessary to reach his purpose and destiny. But look what he became. Joseph was ..read more

EVEN SIMPLE CONVERSATIONS CAN BE EVANGELISTIC

Evangelism is not just for a department or a few individuals. According to John Maxwell, if a leader 'knows, shows and goes the way' by physically getting out and doing it, they will inspire everyone else to do the same follow. I met up with a friend recently. We had not seen each other for ten years! My friend shared her dread about reaching the big FIVE-O, i.e. her 50th birthday! I could not relate because firstly I passed that milestone many years ago….but also because I feel that at every life stage, we all have something great to offer. The culture I am from celebrates age. Older people ..read more

BREAKING NEW GROUND

From experience I know many become discouraged when they don't witness progress in a given amount of time. This piece will hopefully (and prayerfully) put your frustrations into perspective and show you that each stage is essential.. I had a strong unction to share this even though I first wrote it in 2016! The themes are still relevant and I think apt for such a time as this. From experience I know many become discouraged when they don't witness progress in a given amount of time.
