I get it now....
When I was younger, I didn't like that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years were all lumped into a couple of weeks. I thought it'd be better to spread them out. But now I'm a little older and a little wise and I get it now.
Finally.
Now I appreciate that Thankfulness kicks off this festive time of the year.
That is not just a day but a season. A celebration with friends and family that conditions and prepares our hearts for Christmas - which is definitely more than a day - it's about a month, give or take a week (or two).

I stillI still can’t describe the feeling I got and for someone who fancies themself a writer, that’s saying something…
Just another afternoon scrolling through my emails. Lots of junk, a little work, a couple new recipes, a few sales pitches and some follow-up emails from lists I subscribe to. I don’t always click on those touch-base emails from influencers I follow. But today for some unknown reason I did! Well, not unknown. It was definitely a God thing. I was compelled to take the time to read this one. Nothing particular in the subject line stood out. I just wanted to see what my favorite ..read more

About a year ago I shared this post - and it went viral! With nearly 5 million views and thousands of comments and shares. I was blown away by the responsiveness and conversation it prompted. The post title read “Girl, read your bible”. And that resonated with people.
The post was pretty basic from a design standpoint. A plain white background with cursive black text. Certainly not eye-catching through design. But simple stated truth has a way of grabbing attention. There were so many who eagerly agreed that the message in this simple post was pure truth.
It continued by stating you can eat a ..read more

"Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?"
And you are the Queen aren’t you? The queen of your castle? The queen in your home. You are the glue that holds your family together. You are royalty - in a relationship with Jesus. And Jesus is King!
It is a popular phrase in “Christian-ise”. “...For such a time as this”. But there is a lot more to that scripture. There is a lot more to this story. It is important to know the story, to know the meaning behind the scripture. Because then you can use it in your own life, in a positive and accurate way.

A fictional account of actual events.
Everywhere you go you have an opportunity to be Jesus in someone’s life. You just have to ask God to show you the opportunity and to give you the courage and wisdom to act on it.
Chapter 2 - The Friend
Every single morning on my way to work I stopped at Fill-er Up, my favorite oversized gas station, slash, mini-restaurant. 4 out of 5 days I got a large cup of coffee to which I added 2 sugars and a ton of vanilla creamer, on the other day I added a donut. Sure I could have made my own cup of joe at home. I mean, I have about a dozen fancy travel mugs but I ..read more

Chapter 1 - The Extra Step
I was next in line at check out lane number 8 when God gave me just such an opportunity...
It had been a day like any other. A busy, hectic morning and a store filled with shoppers. I was grateful to be almost finished at the store and heading home to the list of chores and responsibilities that awaited me before getting my daughter off the bus from sch ..read more
