I can’t tell you how excited I am that baby Jack likes to wear little sweaters! Now he’s not so excited about being photographed in the sweaters but he was able to give us about 2 minutes out of his very busy day to sit for a picture.  I made his sweater with Patons Canadiana, one of my very favorite acrylics to work with. I was so happy to see that it’s available again on Yarnpsirations.com.  I wanted to try my Simple Stripe Pullover Sweater pattern I published a few weeks ago in a different yarn. For that sweater I used Bernat Bundle Up yarn.  And my hope was to get all thr ..read more

Nicolina, my second oldest daughter designed and made this gorgeous Crochet Cotton Windowpane Baby Blanket for baby Kate!  Nicolina bought her the cutest little dress and wanted to make her a coordinating blanket in which we could take her picture for her 3-month photo shoot. And it turned out so adorable! Time is flying by, and I can’t believe she is already three months. Kate is just the calmest and sweetest baby you can imagine. She has a beautiful smile and a little glow of auburn hair starting to make an appearance.  We are making or sharing a blanket, or maybe it will be a sp ..read more

Hello, Hannah here with a fun new heart hot pad pattern, just in time for Valentine’s Day!  In our hot pad collection so far we have made a Striped Heart Hot Pad and a Skinny Heart Hot Pad, as well as just a regular Crochet Heart Hot Pad, but I realized a few weeks ago we don’t have a textured heart hot pad, so I decided to give it a go and I love how it turned out!  I made these hot pads with Lily Sugar ‘n Cream yarn, which is 100% cotton and comes in lots of beautiful colors. I only needed one of the smaller sized 2.5 oz skeins to make one hot pad. You can click here to browse th ..read more

Hello crochet friends! Isn’t baby Kate just the cutest in her Fun Fringe Headband? This headband is based on the Fun Fringe Beanie pattern we published last November. tap photo for hat pattern My sister Cyndi, aka, Sugar Joye, has been learning how to crochet and as a beginner was very frustrated with the idea of making a pom pom for her hat that she made little “fringes” instead.  We brainstormed together and came up with an easy pattern for her to make and the Fun Fringe Beanie was born!  Then we tried it as the fringe for scarves which we also loved!  tap photo for p ..read more

Resources for Learning How to Crochet
Daisy Farm Crafts

Hi all! It seems like crochet season is in full swing! (Did you know there was even such a thing?) Since starting this crochet website, one thing we have noticed is in January, a whole lot more people pick up a hook and get busy!   I think a lot of us are putting our feet up by the fire and crocheting warm blankets. But whatever the reason, one thing that thrills me is the number of new people who want to learn how to crochet. Lately, we have received more than the usual amount of emails and questions about what resources there are out there to learn how to crochet.  So instead ..read more

30 Patterns Using Caron Simply Soft
Daisy Farm Crafts
by Tiffany

Are you a fan of Caron Simply Soft yarn like us?  We love Caron Simply Soft because of the range of colors it offers- over 40 different colors!  It is so soft to work with and has a nice sheen to it. It’s been a yarn that we’ve used for years for our blankets. It washes up so nicely and can be tossed into the dryer.  Sometimes this yarn can be splitty, so we definitely recommend using a Susan Bates hook, usually an H 5.0 mm or I 5.5 mm size hook.  Please tap the links below for more information about the yarn and hooks.  Shop the yarn to see all the color choices on Ya ..read more

Easy Single Crochet Bubble Sleeve Crop Top with Removable Turtleneck
Daisy Farm Crafts

Hi Crochet Friends!  It’s Cyndi, Tiffany’s sister!   This super easy-to-make single crochet crop top is a variation on the Easy Single Crochet Three Panel Sweater from last week’s blog post. For this version I stayed with the crop length and I added an optional ribbed turtleneck that you can attach to the top or just wear like a neck scarf.  Tiff and I joked that it was a hot flash top because when a hot flash comes on you can just take the turtle neck off! I’m so happy with how it turned out and I think you will enjoy how unique and stylish it is and best of all how simpl ..read more

POST UPDATE:  This beginner-friendly snowball blanket has made its way to one of Hannah’s dear friends who is having a baby this winter season.  We thought we would reshare the pattern with you as Hannah found the cutest little snow suit to pair with the blanket. Also we can’t recommend enough this chidren’s book by Mem Fox. (Any book by Mem Fox is actually a winner. She is a fabulous children’s author.) Anyway, printable pdf and video tutorial available at the end of the post. XO, Tiffany My daughter Annie really wants to learn how to make a blanket with polka dots, so I used only ..read more

tap photo for the gingerbread fun fringe scarf pattern Hi Crochet Friends!  It’s Cyndi, Tiffany’s sister!  If you have been following along this past year you know that Tiff has been teaching me how to crochet.  I began my crochet journey back in August 2022. This super easy-to-make sweater is the most crocheting I have done for one project so far. As Tiff and I talked about in Episode 9 of our Crochet Sister Chat.  My original idea was to make a single crochet coat that I could wear in New York on my holiday visit.  However, the coat idea needed several more cro ..read more
