Le Sutra, Bandra: Dotted with beautiful paintings and sculptures, this 16-room hotel clearly has a strong focus on art. Each of the rooms is inspired by Indian mythology (the Ravana and Buddha rooms, for instance), and there’s even an art gallery on the premises.
Given that Bandra’s seemingly endless food and drink options are right at its doorstep, this is a great option for a stay in the suburbs.

Udaan is a luxury four-bedroom villa designed and run by Le Sutra Great Escapes, and is sprinkled with custom-created murals, sculptures, paintings, and other oddities, all of which reference the concept of flight. Depictions of characters from Hindu mythology “flying” to heaven are interspersed with colourful cushions embroidered with birds, and bed linens featuring the fabled Pegasus. The effect is a vibrant property that is brimming with surprises.

Instead they decided to mix two influences that seem poles apart– Vastu and S.H Raza’s iconic motif, the bindu.
The existing site served as both a blank canvas and a source of inspiration for the design team: Shraddha Purnaye, an art curator and consultant based in Mumbai, Krupanand Karthik, craft designer based in Hyderabad, and Payal Gupta, an artist and designer based in Gurgaon.
