After enduring unemployment for nine months in 2020, I am in the same situation again. On June 1, my former employer and I parted ways. It was not my choice. For the last three months, I have been applying for positions in North Dakota and remote. I have had interviews but no job offers. On Sunday, May 7, while on vacation with my family in Massachusetts, we decided to go to Mass at Most Holy Trinity Monastery, home to the Maronite Monks of Adoration. We were in Massachusetts to visit my wife’s sister and her family. She and her husband are Godparents to our first-born son. It was a trip we had planned for months. It came at a great time for me. Last Sunday, we heard the third Resurrection account for this Easter season from Luke 24:13-25, famously known as The Road to Emmaus.
