What makes a skylight “fire-rated”?
Fire-rated skylights contain glass that has been proven to provide a period of protection against fire during a Fire Resistance Test. The glass must contain a fire within a given period to pass this test. At Sunsquare, we currently offer either 30 or 60-minute ratings.
Fire-rated glass is a requirement on any rooflight in an area that is part of a fire escape, in line with current building regulations.
