Like any other vacation, this one was planned and anticipated for months. Time drags on and on until the day your adventure begins, then immediately starts to run away from you. You know exactly what I’m talking about! So the day finally arrives and all I was thinking was how happy I was to be flying and NOT driving. In fact, I didn’t have to drive the whole weekend and that was perfectly fine with me. Friday, August 20, 2021 Early on Friday morning I hop a ride from LaGuardia International Airport to Cleveland, Ohio. Stephanie was there waiting for me and we hugged and jumped up and down for ..read more

April 13, 2021 was a banner day in the life of TheYvetteRene. It marked FIVE YEARS that I’ve been on YouTube. So to celebrate the momentous occasion I decided to have a little giveaway. I was blown away when Kim Moos, owner of Cotton Cuts, offered to give the lucky winner a 6 month subscription to one of her subscription boxes. The winner chooses between the Classic box, the Modern Maker box and the Java box. But that’s not all! My friend, Stephanie, of Stephanie’s Stitches has donated her long arm quilting services! Stephanie has been a professional long armer since 2015. All you have to do i ..read more

SONGBOOK by Fancy That Design House

Have you heard about Songbook? It’s a new fabric collection all set to be released in June 2021. Stephanie Sliwinski is the face behind Fancy That Design House, one of the new designers for Moda Fabrics. Stephanie loves vintage items and was inspired by that aesthetic, along with items found in nature and her deep faith. I love her use of color and especially her panels. I’m not normally a girl who’s drawn to panels, but these speak to me. Amazing Grace is a hymn that never fails to make me cry and I know I’m not alone in that. My first thought when I saw this collection was probably dismissiv ..read more

My very first Perfectly Pieced Project Box is on PRESALE right now in my Etsy shop, YvetteRene Creations. Since it’s my first one, quantities are limited. The contents and the project itself are a surprise, but I know you’re gonna lurve it! You can be assured that you will receive a foundation paper piecing pattern written by me (along with the templates), enough fabric to complete the quilt top and binding and at least one useful notion. The pattern I designed for this box is suitable for confident beginners, but seasoned FPPers will not be disappointed. Why Foundation Paper Piecing? Simply p ..read more

Once Upon a Time

I often get asked how I decided to start my YouTube channel. It’s something I’d like to know about many YouTube channels, so let’s get into it. Once upon a time, Jim and I moved to Sydney, Australia back in 2012 when he accepted a temporary transfer for his job. It’s one of the best things we’ve ever done and we sometimes wonder why we left! But that’s not why I started my channel. It wasn’t until we repatriated that I realized all my friends had moved on and the life I had grown accustomed to (and loved) in Sydney was no longer viable. I was desperately lonely. I’m not looking for sympathy. O ..read more

This year Black Friday has taken on a whole new role for me. Even though I’ve had my Etsy shop, YvetteRene Creations, for a few years now, I’m only just now picking up some momentum and making it something I am proud of. There’s still work to do, but it’s all good. There are so many of you who have supported me for so long and continue to do so. I appreciate each and every one of you more than you know. YOU are making my dreams come true! And that’s why I have been selling at 25% off in the shop. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I’ve decided again this year to attempt to complete Vlogmas on Yo ..read more
