Just the regular TUS: Lyle Taylor A lot of focus, in the past few days, has been on Nakhi Wells and Ivan Toney, but Lyle Taylor is the man to watch out for. A bid from City involving Kasey Palmer has already been placed, and rejected, but no second bid has been placed, as of yet. However, City fans hoping for this signing should not be discouraged. The reds are still incredibly confident of making this signing, as the Charlton striker only has until the end of the season before his contract runs up. Nothing close, but things will fall into place very easily, if the Robins cough up the re ..read more

News round-up of crazy January

An absolutely MASSIVE win against Barnsley has been the only bright spark this month so far. No signings, missing out on hosting Liverpool at the gate, losing to a mid-table league one side and rapidly dropping points in the Championship. Not a lot has gone right. News Round up Nketiah – Despite reports that he was on his way to the gate, the 19 year old striker is STAYING at the Emirates, much to the frustration of many City fans. Burnley boys – Vydra is a big new name in the window for us, Brownhill and Eliasson both wanted the other way. One to keep watching. Couple of new nam ..read more

4 Players close to signing

James Scott: Previously linked back in September, https://robinview.home.blog/2019/09/16/robins-to-compete-in-race/, the Motherwell centre forward, is now receiving serious interest from the club. The Scottish under 21 international is 6ft 2in and highly rated by his club’s supporters. A fee of around £1-2m should secure Scott’s services and tie down the 19 year old. We understand both clubs view him as a potential star, and Motherwell are keen to keep hold of the player, meaning that, a deal could be secured in the summer, rather than now. Jordan Jones: A loan target, nothing mo ..read more

Ins: Ben Gibson – Less likely to sign a deal. More a last resort signing now. Aapo Halme – Still very interested, but Johnson not fully trusted on this one, taking caution. Marc Guhei – Many others want him, just one on the list. Not actively persuing. Sam Hutchinson – ‘Plotting’ and nothing more, but definitely interested. Marcus Maddison – Only if Brownhill leaves the club. Jordan Jones – We have actually offered to take the Rangers man on loan, this could be close. Rhian Brewster – Off to Germany, Swansea still interested. Emile Smith-Rowe – Once again, more likely ..read more

Giant Centre-half on his way?

I am led to believe that Aapo Halme is on his to Ashton Gate. With his last performance for Barnsley possibly the one at Pride Park. Though many doubt this rumour, I am confident that the Robins are exceedingly likely to sign the Finnish international. A move like this could suggest possibly outgoings, most likely Nathan Baker. Bailey Wright is valued for his leadership, while Taylor Moore is seen as the future, while Tomas Kalas is Lee Johnson’s first choice. Despite starting for Barnsley against Derby, according to Moley Robin@robins_mole and BCFC Transfer@RobinsPolls, Halme is definitely ..read more

January needs shown vs Brentford + Transfer news

Bristol City welcomed Brentford to the gate on the first day of the Transfer Window. An optimistic robins side were keen to impress potential targets, after an emphatic victory over Luton Town silenced Johnson out supporters. Despite the 3-0 scoreline against Luton, 4 losses in a row show that City are nowhere near good enough to be serious promotion contenders. Therefore, Brentford (who are having an excellent season) were going to be a real test, and a good time for the Robins to asses just where they might need to strengthen this month. A moment to forget from Luton standout Jack Hunt ga ..read more

Our targets Yoane Wissa Source: Moley Robin@robins_mole Age: 23 Position(s): Left-Wing / Striker Possible price: £3-5m Current Club: L’Orient Opinion: Would be an excellent signing if possible. It’s time for us to spend some money, and a punt from abroad with a good goal record is exactly what we need. Similar player to Weiman , but seems good value in the current market. Andraz Sporar  Source: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/all-about/bristol-city-fc Age: 25 Position(s): Striker Possible price: £5-6m Current Club: Slovan Bratislava Opinion: Onc ..read more

The final two strikers
RobinView

It seems, with the window approaching, that there are only two striking targets left, both new to the table. Dwight Gayle and Yoane Wissa. It is simply a case of going for the expensive or cheap option. Dwight Gayle We can exclusively reveal that Bristol City are interested in a move for Dwight Gayle, and are ready to shift a huge £12m in order to get him. But, at 30 years old Bristol City are not snapping off Newcastles’ hands to sign the player, but are also ready to pay, should no better option arise. After rejecting joining the club in 2015, Gayle now feels a move to a promotion pus ..read more

Transfer Update series: Brownhill, Strikers, and CAM activity

My second post in this series, just before the big January transfer preview. Brownhill: There is absolutely no doubt that Joshy Brownhill has been one of, if not the best players for us this season and in 2019 as a whole. Signed from Preston after loans spells with LJ’s Barnsley for a fairly low price, the Englishmen could be set for a big money move to a Premier League side. A substantial amount of clubs are linked with plots to sign him, including Bournemouth, Brighton, Wolves and Sheffield United, but Burnley and Southampton are seen as the current front runners. A fee in the region o ..read more
