A month back, I started my baking journey with a simple chocolate mug cake recipe. Being so fascinated with this easy and delightful process, I found myself baking it every other day. In no time I was gorging on innumerable sinful chocolate savory and as good as it does taste, I realized I needed a change. My midnight hunger got me scrounging the kitchen and I luckily stumbled upon some dried blueberries and cranberries, thus baking another variation in this mug cake edition- A Blue-Cran-Berry Vanilla Cake. Ingredients Used Mug (Microwave Safe) All-purpose flour or Maida (2 tbsp) Butter (2 tb ..read more

If you haven’t tasted Parsi Cuisine in an authentic Parsi café in Mumbai, then you cannot claim to have experienced this city entirely. For a Non-Mumbaikar like me, a taste of this culture and the cuisine was on the top of my bucket list. Gladly, two weeks back, I rewarded my long overdue wish with a sumptuous lunch at the Britannia & Co. Café.  Britannia is one of the oldest Parsi restaurants in Mumbai dating back to 1923. The walls of the café, adorned with priceless pictures and souvenirs speak about the rich history of this institution. Inside the café one can also spot a cut out of ..read more

On a very drowsy October morning, I found myself sitting across my mother discussing about winter holiday plans over a cup of coffee. It wasn’t long when that little table talk brought us to the decision of taking a short and a not-so-fancy vacation during that time. The question still remained ‘Where to, this year?’ As I sipped my coffee, I couldn’t help but muse over my 2018 scintillating silk route vacation at Sikkim. At that moment I knew it was a no brainer. It had to be Sikkim again. Well, for a change, in the freezing cold of December chills this time! On 26th December, after a ten h ..read more

Juhu is surely a hotspot for many beautiful cafés and swanky restaurants. The entire stretch houses a variety of dining options, from small & medium sized outlets to really glamorous bistros. Being a college student, I hop around the streets of Juhu, eating at affordable diners at least once in a fortnight. La Sanazaar is one place which doesn’t burn a hole in my pocket and at the same time satisfies all my gastronomical desires. The café has an interesting outdoor setting with a small seating arrangement and an open bar. To my surprise, I found the café a little undermaintained, somewhat ..read more

An ode to Bombay

While travelling in this kali peeli taxi, I struck a conversation with my friend who had just come down to Bombay from Delhi. Being equally obsessive about the cities we lived in, we managed to enter a passionate yet friendly banter about which city appealed to us more. Evidently, there wasn’t a clear winner. Mulling over this for some time, it dawned upon a little sooner than expected that, it is the city where you have your set of firsts, it is the city where you explore your freedom, it is the city where you make your own decisions, and it is the city where you find your first set of ..read more
