Well Christmas has come and gone, time is slow but speedy at the same time….. Like most people I spend time with family and friends over the Holiday period and then in the New Year I find it is a time for reflection.  Looking back over the last year, or years and seeing what worked, what didn’t and how I may change my life and my habits for the better. We all know someone who has bought a gym subscription in January and all the kit and clothing and didn’t make it into February.  These last few years have been tough, with lockdowns and other restrictions.  Keeping a positive fram ..read more

Outdoor candles can add a warm glow to your time spent outside, especially in your own garden or on your patio.  Bright lights can attract moths and bugs, but the gentle glow of the candle allows you to see and stops the bugs.   With so many styles and scents, the options are limitless – but we will help you select a scent that will not only bring you enjoyment, it will also keep away the mosquitoes. Grounding, also known as Earthing, is a way to reconnect yourself to the Earth.  Grounding and Earthing helps you to discharge built-up energy, negativity, release toxins and balance and centre oneself.  It can help you feel calmer and more in charge of yourself and your destiny.  If you are feeling like a leaf blowing in the wind, these stones may help you. Fossil Wood, sometimes called Petrified Wood.  A tree so ancient that all the organic matter has turned to stone.  A wonderful calming stone to help you reconnect with nature. How to choose a crystal for someone else It is often said that it is better to give then to receive and we all have people we need to buy a gift for now and again and a crystal can be a magical gift to give or to receive. When purchasing a crystal for a gift I always try to think about the person I am purchasing for.  I like to stop and take a moment, to think what they like, colours, food, clothes and then where they are in their lives at the moment.  What may help them?  What pressures are they coping with? There are small gifts you can give, like tumblestones or useful gifts ..read more

Is My Crystal Real or a Fake?

In these strange times it is hard to know who to trust and just what is real and is not. In this blog post I will discuss how to tell if your crystal is real or has it just had a little make over. Citrine Often you will find a very orange almost rusty looking Citrine, which is heat treated Amethyst.  This Amethyst has been baked in a oven and the result is this Citrine (this is how Citrine is made in nature).  Natural Citrine can often look quite dull in comparison. Agate Agate is a very common crystal and comes from many parts of the world.  In its natural state you can find i ..read more

We all know that 2020 was an unusual year and most of us spent it lock in our homes, those of us lucky enough to have a garden made as much use of it as possible and time kind of stood still. Although we are allowed to go out for exercise, a lot us didn’t really want to….you get used to staying in your home and even though you might be getting cabin fever the daily diet of Covid news was enough to put most people off going out of the front door. Well now we are in 2021, and have been in total lockdown since last December, but in theory the end is in sight.  With this in mind I am trying t ..read more

Essential Oils, explored

While essential oils have remained a staple in alternative medicine for centuries, the way they are being used is changing. So much so, that the new Netflix series Unwell explored both sides of the essential oils debate on the first show in the series.  Are essential oils safe or unsafe? Do they possess any proven useful properties? Such questions are barely explored, and no medical doctors make the final cut, but it was still very interesting viewing and a very interesting topic. With all of this new information, comes serious questions. Namely, what evidence is there to support these id ..read more
