When life gets stressful, I dream of our family’s beautifully peaceful home-away-from-home, tucked away on a quiet beach, a short walk away from the shops in Kihei, on the Hawaiian Island of Maui – Leilani Kai Resort. My Hawaiian escape and home!
The perfect way to start a day!
My first memories are actually from here, at age three, playing crocodile in the pool with my older sister of 4, and two other girls staying at this 10-unit resort on a quiet beach in Kihei. A beach on which we spent our days building sandcastles and wading through the shallows with our pails to chat with the fishermen ..read more

Read on as Liz discovers the riches of South Carolina’s Lowcountry.

Docking in Qaqortoq, Anne and Vera disembarked from their Oceania Insignia ‘Atlantic Glaciers and Harbors’ Cruise at their final port on Greenland for a taste of Greenland, to not only discover local food, but become more immersed in Greenland’s culture.

We were sorry not to see Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, but we thoroughly enjoyed the bea ..read more

The next morning we arrived at Paamiut, another very picturesque Greenland town with only about 1500 people. At this port, we enjoyed touring around the town with our four friends, which made up the rest of our travelling group.
Our first stop was the Visitor’s Centre, where we browsed and learned some things about the town. Befor ..read more

As Oceania Insignia neared Tasermiut Fjord, Southern Greenland, Anne and Vera disembarked at their first port on Greenland in the town and island of Nanortalik (meaning Place of the Polar Bears). Join them as they discover some of Greenland’s culture, exploring it southernmost town.
Greenland had seemed like such a strange and mysterious land before I travelled there, and I had sometimes wondered if anyone even lived there. I found out that not only did people live there, but many of the towns were cruise ports that welcomed tourists.
As we came into the harbour of our first cruise port ..read more
