Earlier last month, Virginia officially adopted the CROWN Act into its legislature effectively banning discrimination against natural hairstyles. Florida Governor Signs Mandatory E-Verify Law

Earlier last month, current Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a new law, known as “SB 664”, that would make E-Verify the mandatory method of verifying work eligibility. This would apply to all government employees and even some private employers as well. The provision will be mandatory beginning January first of next year, 2021. Any public employer, contractor, or even subcontractor will need to use the E-Verify system and will be barred from entering any public contract until they obtain an E-Verify certificate. FCRA lawsuits have steadily risen each year for the past decade. In 2009, less than 1500 cases were filed against employers and/or CRA’s. Last year, over 4000 cases were filed prior to the end of last year.
