Violet pulled out an album that was tucked into the side cushions. The album contained family photos and pictures cut out from magazines of people my mother added, officially making them part of our family. Paper people I called them, each with elaborate stories. “Violet lifted her eyes and fixed them on a strange man who was standing in front of her. She twisted her drinking straw, trying to remember if he was a man she should know  ....someone perhaps who was hidden in her memory's blind spot.”  I loved this visit. My mother's words skip around like a young lamb, equivalent to a genius who had overcome the conventional boundaries of facts.
