Are Timeshares Worth It?
Me and My Traveling Hat

Our family has been going on vacations using timeshare since the 1980s before I was married and had my own family. We used our timeshare and loved it so much that a few family members joined the business back then. They no longer sell timeshare and either do I. Are Timeshares worth it?  For our family, timeshares are worth it!  But there are ways I will discuss later on how to go about getting one if you are interested in doing so.  Ocean Walk Daytona Florida Outside Your Beach Front Wyndham Ocean Walk Daytona Florida This post may contain affiliate links and we may earn compens ..read more

One of my family’s favorite resorts we love staying at is the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida.  Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek is not only a resort, but there is also a hotel on-site called Wyndham Grand, and oh is it grand!  Not only is this one of our favorites, but many others have made this theirs too! Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek ranked #4 on Conde Nast’s Reader’s Choice Awards list in 2018! Stay Using Your Ownership or Paying For Your Stay When we visit the Resort, we stay using our points as an owner, which has its advantages.  We have not stayed at the hotel, but ..read more

Me and My Traveling Hat
by Jennifer Elkin

There are so many ways to make a s’more. Of course, there is the traditional way of how to make a s’more: graham crackers, Hershey chocolate bars, and roasted marshmallows. But when it comes to food and other creative things that I get my hands on, I usually add a twist. So I thought I would share some other ways I like making s’mores!  How To Roast Your Marshmallows I am not sure about you, but sometimes, I want a roasted marshmallow out of the blue! I am fortunate to have a gas stove, so I put a marshmallow on a long fork, turn on my stove for just a minute, and start roasting my marsh ..read more

Bakeries in Durham NC

There is something about baked goods that is comforting, especially during hard times. So lately, I have been craving cake or some type of baked good.  When I was growing up, my mom would make a made-from-scratch chocolate cake with homemade icing, and then we would watch a family show.  If it was a Sunday night, we would watch The Wonderful World of Disney movie or older shows that some of you probably never heard of.  This became a family tradition, for my mom to make a cake and for the family to watch a family show together. Mom’s Sunday Night Chocolate Cake Funny Story I wil ..read more

When I visited Arrington Vineyards it was a perfect day.  It was in October when the weather was crisp; it was simply a beautiful time of year to visit Arrington Vineyards in Tennessee. Visiting the Vineyards Usually, when I visit Franklin and Nashville, TN, I like to spend an afternoon at Arrington Vineyards  enjoying a picnic and a glass of their signature wines.  It’s a place to relax and enjoy the grape as they say.  You can go as a couple, just girlfriends or have a celebration as we did. Having great people with you is always a plus! Some of their Acres of Vineyards I ..read more

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!
Me and My Traveling Hat

The saying, “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” was something my mom would say when I was growing up. A song written by Howard Johnson, Billy Moll, and Robert H. King, in the 1920s became popular during the jazz era; and the song’s refrain, “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” was even used in a 1991 TV commercial for Hershey Syrup. Easy Summer Salads
Me and My Traveling Hat
by Jennifer Elkin

Summer to me means hot weather, vegetable gardens, and long, lazy days outside. And since no one wants to be indoors, cooking a meal over a hot stove, easy summer salads are a perfect solution. When growing up my mom would always make salads to accompany our main meals.  Sometimes it would be greens with tomatoes and cucumbers.  Sometimes it would be cucumber, onion, and vinegar mixture with her homemade dressing, while another would be potatoes, green beans, onions, and a vinegar-based salad dressing.  I remember these salads specifically.   When I visited my husband ..read more

The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is a fantastic experience that MUST be on everyone’s bucket list. I have had the pleasure to live and travel to many places which gave me an opportunity to eat authentic flavors of food. New York City was one of those cities that was easy to find the best authentic food because it’s the melting pot of the world! I remember when I lived there that no matter what time it was, I could find a place open where I could get something to eat. Usually, a diner was open that had a wide variety of menu choices available. Fortunately, I still live in an area that has an in ..read more
