Don’t Give Up! Be of good courage | Be of good cheer |Don’t give up |Keep going |You can do this! What doesn’t kill you……sometimes makes you want to make bad choices, but please don’t. Sometimes you will because you are human. Try to do better. Don’t give up. Breathe. Pray. Breathe some more. Pray a whole lot more. Don’t give up. Focus on what is good. Focus on what is pure. Focus on what you are thankful for. Thank God for what He’s done for you. Thank God for what He’s doing that you can’t see. Thank God for who He is. Don’t give up. Renew your mind by handing it over to the One who can. Cl ..read more

Either way, the fate of packed schedules, school times, and activities are coming for you.  Family life sometimes can feel like you can’t catch your breath. Yet, so commonly, the thing I see slide in working with people is nutrition. The quick drive-through on the way to practice or the “I forgot to pull something out” and five o’clock is here. Prayer for our Children
Pursuing true North | Blog

Moms who love Jesus love their children in the form of prayer. It is what we do. We pour out our hearts before God about every need we can see they have. We pray for their hearts to love Him. Our hands are laid on them as we pray over their healing. We battle the dark side ferociously in the name of Jesus when they struggle. Begging God to intervene is what many of us do for a variety of needs. There are plenty of quiet moments when we thank God for them as they are sitting there eating, sleeping, playing ball, you name it. Our intercessory prayers do more to move heaven than we even know. The Good Wife

The Good Wife What does it even mean to be a good a wife? Is it a sliding scale of subjectivity? Differing opinions will split hairs on every topic, so it should be no surprise that this phrase is debatable. The Bible, however, shows us some major truths that are not up for debate. Could I focus instead on what a good husband is supposed to look like? Sure, but how does focusing on them help us grow into better wives? We are responsible for us – we can only take steps of obedience for ourselves. We must pray for them, though, whether they are leading well or they aren’t. Our prayers just chan ..read more

Encourage Each Other

Encourage one another. Spring has sprung down here in middle Tennessee. It’s a beautiful time of year and my favorite. There might be a little too much work around a farm right now, but that’s OK. I’d rather be too busy living this life God gave me than idle. There is definitely something to that old saying, “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” Unfortunately, when there is nothing to do, that’s usually when my kids or myself get into trouble. I digress. Anyway, I received a splinter in all of these chores around the farm. In all of my life, I have never done splinters well. I distinctly reme ..read more

Think Fast

Think fast? Fast for Lent? Fast from social media? Fast from what? Fast for what? Most of us, Catholic or not, know about the practice of fasting for Lent. Essentially Lent’s fast has many intricacies, that I don’t know all the forms of but are practiced differently one to the next. What remains the same is it’s supposed to have the one participating join in remembering Jesus’ suffering in the wilderness while being tempted by Satan. People give up meat, give up sugar, give up alcohol, any number of things can you insert here. This isn’t the fast discussed here today, but I thought it importa ..read more

Loneliness

Can I ever get over the Loneliness? God is with us. Can I ever get over loneliness? After watching a heart-wrenching video about parents of special needs kids and the isolation they feel, this is the question I ask myself. Can I ever get over loneliness? Is it even possible? The video didn’t give hope, but I’ll share the insight and hope I now have. Loneliness. Sadness. Separation. This past month has been rough in so many ways. Winter seems to be taxing, the cloudy days endless. There are tremendous amounts of rain depending on where you live and really, really cold weather that keeps m ..read more

What are You Waiting For?

What are you waiting for? What is that thing – that soul aching thing – you are waiting on? Oh, I’m sorry, was there more than one that stood out all at the same time? I’ve got a few things going on all the burners, as well. There’s so much we can’t control – pretty much all of it, actually. We plan, we strategize, we overanalyze, we think everything over so much we can’t make a solid decision that sticks because we talk our way out of everything. We long for absolution but can’t grab it. We chase the white rabbit, thinking that we will feel satisfied when we feel like we have managed e ..read more

Identity in Busy

What is your family’s identity in? Are you filling your families schedule with what is important to your values? Who is controlling your time? You or what society is telling you to do? I need to confess all of you; please don’t judge me. Just practice extending that mercy now. Are you ready for it? When the initial quarantine happened back in 2020, I was happy for the break. Yup, I was. I had no idea of the months and years to come or the freedoms that were about to be taken from us. Grateful not to have to get kids to school, doctor’s appointments, sports, activities, etc. I thought – wow, n ..read more

Identity For New Years

Identity For New Years. Identity has been heavy on my heart for a while now. With society’s growing mental health issues and dissatisfaction in life, finding our identity seems to be hard to come by. I have even spoken publicly about finding our true identity, conveying the importance of being grounded in the Lord.  Yet People, including myself, have found their identity in various other things throughout the years. From work to sports, being a mom to where you live, the list goes on. None of these things are bad in any sense except when you don’t recognize that none of this is who you a ..read more
