At its core, the Alien franchise is easy to understand: people meet aliens, bad things happen. It’s a lot harder to keep track of when exactly these things occur.
Alien takes place in 2122, Aliens 57 years later, and then Alien 3 happens shortly afterwards. But then things get weird. Alien Resurrection jumps ahead 202 years, Prometheus begins sometime in prehistory and then in 2093, and Alien: Covenant is in 2104. Alien: Romulus will squeeze in between the first two movies, around 2142, which is 20 years after the original. And that’s not even going through the Alien vs Predator flicks or the ..read more

This article contains spoilers for Netflix’s What Jennifer Did.
The true crime documentary business stays booming. Long a mainstay of both network and cable television, true crime documentary films and docuseries have increasingly gained a foothold in the streaming world as well.
Premier streamer Netflix has been particularly fond of the engaging (and inexpensive) format, churning out many new true crime efforts each month. At first glance, Netflix’s latest doc, What Jennifer Did, is your standard fare.
The 90-minute documentary from director Jenny Popplewell recounts the chilling real life ca ..read more

AMC drama Mad Men is one of the best TV series of its era – or any other for that matter. The seven season-long saga of 1960s Madison Avenue advertising executive Don Draper (Jon Hamm) has rightfully taken its place among the classics in the TV canon. In addition to its greatness, however, another thing that Mad Men should be remembered for is its bizarre commitment to secrecy.
Mad Men was one of the most spoiler-phobic TV shows ever. Showrunner Matthew Weiner insisted that AMC’s promos for the drama reveal next-to-nothing about upcoming plots. A typical “on the next episode of Mad Men” advert ..read more

This article contains spoilers for Amazon’s Fallout TV series and the Fallout games.
Amazon’s long-awaited adaption of the Fallout franchise is a smashing success that has reignited interest in the Fallout games. In general, it seems to be a great time to be a Fallout fan.
Yet, look at certain corners of the internet (you know the ones), and you’ll likely find quite a bit of discourse over the state of the Fallout timeline. Long story short, it seems that some Fallout fans feel that the TV show deliberately altered the Fallout franchise timeline in ways that they consider to be an insult to th ..read more

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
Whatever the problems in its first two seasons, Star Trek: The Next Generation ended in perfect fashion. “All Good Things…” saw Captain Picard become unstuck in time, visiting the past, present, and future of his ship.
“All Good Things…” allowed the show and fans to see just how far TNG had come over the years. It revisits the clunky inaugural season via Picard’s interactions in the past with Tasha Yar, whose death midway through season one only underscored the tumultuous first two years of the series. And by going into the future, checking ..read more

Since its formation in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has put an emphasis on in-ring action, creating a much-needed alternative to WWE. Some would even say that there is too much emphasis on the wrestling itself and not enough flashy storytelling. But while the promotion is far from perfect, there are still many great arcs and rivalries that have come from Tony Khan smashing his action figures together.
Here is a look at the best storylines in AEW’s short history, from alcoholic cowboys to angry dinosaur men..

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
In terms of individual episodes, Star Trek: Discovery does not hold any kind of Star Trek record for more time travel stories. But, it’s also the Trek series in which time travel is the most integral to the stories, characters, and themes. In season 1, Trek canon introduced “time crystals” and by season 2, the entire crew became unstuck in time forever.
Now, in the fourth episode of its final season, Discovery is revisiting some of its timey-wimey themes, with a time loop-ish episode centered on Captain Burnham and our new favorite grouchy f ..read more

This article contains spoilers for the end of Bluey season 3.
The longest Bluey episode ever premiered on Disney+ on April 14, leaving kids further enthralled with the Heeler family and parents reaching for their tissue boxes. “The Sign,” the season 3 finale of Bluey, was a whopping 28 minutes in length, more than triple the average seven-minute episode length for the animated series.
But “The Sign” brought more than just an extra-long Bluey episode: In it, Uncle Rad and Frisky got married in the Heeler family’s backyard, Aunt Brandy debuted a possible baby bump, and Bandit wrestled with the d ..read more

This Star Trek: Discovery review contains spoilers.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 Episode 4
Time travel has been a staple of science fiction ever since the genre was invented. And Star Trek has always been curious about the concept—from the basic rules of how it works to the widespread impact caused by the tiniest of changes to history. From The Original Series’ classic “The City on the Edge of Forever” to Strange New Worlds’ more recent Lower Decks crossover “Those Old Scientists”, the franchise is full of time travel stories. But Star Trek: Discovery has played around with the concept more t ..read more

Late-night talk shows were like home when I was a teenager. Social anxieties could disappear, bullies were non-existent, and the humorous, non-consequential words of the hosts would calm me down after a stressful day at school. The comedians who took over TV after 11:35 PM welcomed me into a universe I belonged to, a complete contrast from the social outcasting I felt in the classroom walls. I could live vicariously through their jokes and joyful scenarios in which the audience cheered and clapped, and nobody’s confidence was shattered by a lousy joke.
Along with Craig Ferguson, Conan O ..read more
