Wednesday is win or go home for the Gunners, but they can get the job done

Wednesday’s match at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Area is really a crossroads for the Gunners. A defeat ends a dream of reaching the Champions League semifinals, and potentially the final itself. A loss would also mean the club has lost two consecutive, very important late-season matches in a row. Could this be a repeated storyline from last season? The good news, the Gunners have bounced back before. If you remember late December, the club lost 0-2 to West Ham, 1-2 to Fulham and 0-2 to Liverpool before a 14 game unbeaten streak that began on January 20th. Can Mikel Arteta and his team regain that s ..read more

There’s not much to say about the Aston Villa match, other than it was a very disappointing second half performance during a heated title run. As of today, the Gunners are two points behind Manchester City on the league table. To be realistic, Arsenal needs to win their remaining six Premier League matches, and hope Man City either draws or gets beat at least once.  The Gunners also need to main their goal differential lead over Pep Guardiola’s side in case a tie breaker is needed to determine the league champion. Another Arsenal defeat, and the club’s title dreams will probably be g ..read more

Unai and the Villians face Mikel and the Gunners on Sunday in north London

There is nothing better than a home match in a reverse fixture to even the score with a Premier League opponent. Unai Emery (remember him) and his Aston Villains will be coming to north London on Sunday trying to swipe the season series v the Gunners. If you remember, Villa beat Arsenal 1-0 in their grounds on December 9th. It’s now time to even the score with Aston Villa. For a little background, Emery’s side are 0-0-0 in their last ten league matches. They currently stand 5th on the leaguer table. Mikel Arteta will have his men laser focussed on this match with the understanding the only thi ..read more

It wasn’t what Arsenal supporters wanted for a result on Tuesday, however, the final score did prove this club can compete with other big clubs on a biggest of stages. It wasn’t the Gunners best performance of the season, however, it was enough to earn a 2-2 draw v Bayern Munich. On the flip side of reality, two major Arsenal mistakes allowed Bayern’s two goals. I don’t believe these were mistakes because Mikel Arteta’s squad was inexperienced in such big games. I think mistakes are mistakes. We’ve seen them before, and we’ll see them again, but unfortunately, those two mistakes came at a real ..read more

History plays no role in today’s match

Gabriel Jesus said it best, “They are Bayern, but we are Arsenal.” This is not a match that will be based on history, or what happened before. This match will be played today, with different players and with different managers. History plays no role in today’s match. It’s time for the naysayers to hold their words and give Arsenal the respect they deserve. This is a very young club who is not only leading the Premier League, but has also lost only twice in fourteen matches in 2024. Indeed, the Gunners deserve to be given every opportunity to be acknowledged as strong contenders in the Champion ..read more

Arsenal continues their run towards a potential Premier League title this season with Brighton and Hove Albion the club’s next stop. The Seagulls are currently 9th on the league table after 30 matches completed but always present a difficult match to play in a difficult stadium to win. So, without saying, Mike Arteta’s squad will have to work hard and play sharp to win the three points on the road on Saturday. With that said, here’s my predicted line-up for the Gunner match at the Amex Community Stadium… [4-3-3] Martinelli, Havertz, Saka Rice, Odegaard, Partey Kiwior, Gabriel, Saliba, Whit ..read more

Arsenal returned to the win column after a good performance v Luton Town on Wednesday in Emirates Stadium. It wasn’t the Gunners best showing of the season, but it was enough to get the three points. The match also offered an opportunity to rest several of Mikel Arteta’s front line players. It also provided an opportunity for Emile Smith Rowe to play, for Thomas Partey to get a lot of amount of minutes, and for Reiss Nelson to have a starting nod as well. Overall, it was a nice job by everyone involved! I wish, however, that Ben White and Martin Odegaard could have been taken off at the 60 or ..read more

Luton Town will not come to the Emirates without intensions of their own

Despite their current position in the league, Luton Town will not be a push over. The Hatters have their own intensions. The Premier League newcomer this season has faired reasonably well despite standing 18th in the current table. The club has 5 wins, 7 draws and 18 defeats in their 30 matches played. Obviously, they are in the relegation zone, but only trail Nottingham Forest by three points with a game in hand. Mikel Arteta also understands this is not going to be easy… “Big compliments to Rob Edwards and his coaching staff. What they have done as a club is an amazing journey. I think they ..read more

Who will start v Luton Town on Wednesday at the Emirates?

Following a very difficult match in the Etihad on Sunday, the Gunners return home to face relegation zone member Luton Town on Wednesday. If you remember, the reverse fixture on December 5th v Luton Town was a nail biter. It took a last minute goal by Declan Rice to secure the 3-2 win for Arsenal at Kenilworth Road. It goes without saying, this is a must win, as they all will be from now until May 19th. In order to prepare for the run-in, I believe Bukayo Saka will get a rest on Wednesday, as will Jakub Kiwior, Kai Havertz  and Jorginho. With that said, here’s my predicted line-up for Wed ..read more

Cheers all the way around Super Sunday!

Here are some random thoughts on Sunday’s draw at Manchester City… It’s hard to imagine a 0-0 draw being called exciting, right? However, I my opinion, the game was stacked with some great play from both sides. Yes, it was not an offensive showdown that many had expect, but the last thirty minutes of the match were wide opening, nerve-racking and a lot of fun to watch. Even though Arsenal held the ball only around 25% of the match, the Gunners were a solid wall of defensive accountability and desire to prevent the Cityzens from getting a cheap score. William Saliba and Gabriel again held the l ..read more
