MCOP & Superhumans Collaboration In mid-August a team of four prosthetists from Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics in Silver Spring will journey to Lviv, Ukraine to train Ukrainian prosthetists and treat Ukrainian soldier amputees. Prior to the team’s arrival in Ukraine, MCOP shipped nearly 1,200 pounds of necessary equipment to the country.   Alhassan came to MCOP from Ghana, Africa to have custom upper extremity prosthetics devices made. Alhassan lost the use of his arms 5 years ago as a result of traumatic burns to both arms.  For the past 5 years Alhassan has been reliant on other people for normal ADL tasks including eating and getting dressed.
