Everlane provided the denim (and bodysuit) in this post for review. This post contains affiliate links. “Vintage” Denim FTW This season’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is full of teen drama, a dizzying array of literary references, and more plot lines than you can track. It’s also full of adorable cuffed denim a la the 1950s and a fair amount of 1960s-70s sartorial references for good measure. Just take a look at Nick’s denim and Sabrina’s Scooby-Doo get-up… Netfl ..read more

Details: Turtleneck - Everlane; Shoes - Allbirds; Dress, Hat, Belt - secondhand Welcome to my weird outfit This ankle injury has made outfit picture-taking a confounding experience. The reality is that I have worn, exclusively, these Allbirds Mizzle high-tops ever since I received them several weeks ago. They’re the only thing I can get my foot into without causing additional pain. They’re attractive as far as sneakers go, but as a self-declared “shoe person,” wearing the same pair of shoes every day is simply not inspiring. State medic ..read more

Review | Everlane Day Glove ReKnit

The Everlane Day Glove, ReKnit Edition For the last several months, I had been saving up Everlane store credit to use on a pair of white Western boots, convinced that they were my dream. By the time they arrived in my front lobby, however, I had sprained my ankle, thus making them impossible to wear. Upon opening them, I also discovered they didn’t have very good traction, which, considering the lingering anxiety I have about falling over and hurting myself and the reality of icy, snow-covered concrete here in New Haven, seemed like a recipe for disaster. All that to say that I decided to use ..read more

Entireworld Review | Good Clothes, Annoying Website
Style Wise | Ethical Fashion, Fair Trade, Sustainability

Have you heard of Entireworld? I first heard about the newish brand from Grechen. Her reviews were compelling, and I liked the fact that pieces were colorful with the kind of touches a true designer puts into their work. What’s more, Entireworld is committed to using organic cotton and sustainable production practices, along with carefully vetted factories. While they’re not fully transparent about their factory practices, they seem to have a clear understanding of their production line. So I headed over to the website…and immediately got a headache. I cannot for the life of me understand why ..read more

Thoughtful Style | Pyne & Smith, a Sprained Ankle, and an Ornery Cat

Details: Dress - Pyne & Smith Clothiers; Earrings - Sela Designs; Cat - New Haven Animal Shelter I’ve had a very weird relationship with my closet recently. I mean, I could probably say this every winter. The doldrum days of consistent cold lend a kind of bland uniformity to getting dressed. Thermal? ✔️ Sweater? ✔️ Jeans? ✔️ Boots? ✔️ But things have broken down even further by nature of the fact that I sprained my ankle on the second day of classes (about 3 weeks ago) and every move I make is now informed by how to avoid putting we ..read more

Ethical Valentine's Day Options That Aren't Throwaway

Sponsored, with some affiliate links from listed brands. Valentine’s Day Goods That Aren’t Impulse Buys In the past, I have shied away from doing Valentine’s Day Gift Guides, because I find V-day to be one of the least purposeful giving holidays. From polyester-filled stuffed animals to pesticide-laden flowers shipped across the world to child-labor harvested chocolate, there’s not a lot to like about traditional gifts this time of year. But that is precisely why a gift guide may be worthwhile. My husband and I don’t typically exchange ..read more

Why Ebay Is Still My Favorite Online Thrift Store | Poshmark Comparison

I sincerely wish I was being paid to write this, but alas! It does contain some affiliate links. Why Ebay is My Favorite Online Thrift Store In 1995, Ebay revolutionized the way we use the internet by creating the first online auction site. I was approaching seven years old in 1995, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t know what the internet was, though I did enjoy a handful of computer games, including one my sister and I still sing the jingle to. It wasn’t until 2003 - when the “That’s on Ebay” commercial was first released - that Ebay began ..read more
