Adobe InDesign Share for Review functions
GoProof’s functions for Adobe InDesign
Should I be using GoProof or Share for Review?
Adobe recently announced their Adobe InDesign Share for Review feature at the digital Adobe MAX conference.
Share for Review suits freelancers and creative individuals who want to share InDesign work in a single place and cut down time merging individual feedback.
It’s great for giving people the chance to see work in one place and make basic comments on it together.
It is, however, nowhere near the scale, power and depth of GoProof online proofing softw ..read more

Have you ever noticed your Adobe® InDesign® document getting crazy bigger every time you save a new version?
GET METAFIX
Yeah it’s going to get bigger when you add more content – but we mean way bigger than it should do for two images and a small slice of copy for example.
This shocking jump in file size that seems totally unwarranted is known as file bloating.
And you’ll be glad to know we’ve solved it for GoProof users by integrating a neat new plugin from our Oppolis team called Metafix, which is totally free.
Here’s the lowdown. This whole scenario may open your eyes to somethin ..read more

Writing copy. It comes in so many guises.
The current Copy Editor in GoProof allows collaborators to make quick text edits on proofs, cutting out separate email trails and making content life a ton easier.
That’s awesome for many growing creative teams – but what about the process for more complex stories submitted by Adobe® InCopy® CC users? The kind that journalists and full-time copywriters write and submit for heavy duty publications?
It’s no secret that the current InCopy to Adobe InDesign® workflow process for submitting content is great but could be better, with the only solution seemin ..read more

Here’s a nice little surprise for 4th July week.
Our techies have given the Copy Editor – our tool for collaborators to edit text on proofs sent from Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud – a holiday upgrade.
First, the interface.
We’ve made it easier for collaborators to filter and view the text boxes by organizing the layout better.
When opening the proof and clicking the EDIT COPY button to split the screen, instead of showing all the editable text boxes on the right-hand side straight away, we’ve calmed the view down and introduced a filter-select with the following options:

The killer comma. Clients just don’t get it.
How something so insignificant can bust your InDesign text boxes and cause total destruction.
You can’t really blame the client for it though, as they’re not directly exposed to the jigsaw puzzle that is your design template and can’t put it directly into a visual context.
Here’s the scenario.
The copy arrives from the client and you paste it into your first design. You get the composition right, the impact strong, the text hierarchy consistent and the CTA compelling. Text boxes are set in place.
Then on the first round of reviews, the copy changes ..read more

The year was 1998.
Microsoft had just become the biggest company in the world. Google (with an exclamation mark!) was unveiled, the single Euro currency was born and Titanic bagged 11 Oscars at the 70th Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, a new product coming out of PageMaker – codenamed Shuksan by the ‘94 Adobe-acquired company Aldus and then later codenamed K2 – was being developed.
It was Adobe’s weapon to take on QuarkXPress, who by ‘98 had all but eradicated PageMaker’s share in the professional desktop publishing market.
In an interview with CRN during the K2 development phase, Adobe Systems co-f ..read more
