I know a lot of us are trying to make more eco-friendly swaps in the bathroom. But it’s not without its challenges. I love solid products (think shampoo bars, soap, etc) but once you get a few too many they get quite difficult to store and keep track of. ‘Is that my shampoo bar or face wash?’ I find myself wondering. Not ideal.
Another challenge is finding *effective* skincare that’s also eco-friendly. It seems like most brands leave the ingredients that give real results at the door and keep their eco-products very basic. So whilst that may be fine by the planet, it’s not good news for my fac ..read more

The cost of living crisis is hitting us all. After years stuck indoors, I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to dinners out with friends, or even just the chance to enjoy a meal I haven’t cooked. Like many Londoners, I’m keen to cut down my spending without cutting down on my lifestyle. So I’ve turned to Tastecard. It’s the membership card that offers you discounts when dining out. I was a bit hesitant about signing up because I didn’t think I’d find many vegan options, but they proved me wrong!

Does talking about the environment leave you exhausted? I love having chats about living a more sustainable, more considerate life but hate it when it leaves people feeling gloomy. That’s no good at all. Especially when a more eco-friendly future is something to get so excited about!
So please, join me over at my new podcast Susty in the City where we keep things lighthearted whilst chatting about life through a conscious lens. With a new guest each week, you can discover new favourite creators and hear some amazing stories.

When I first went vegan, I found the food element of it all quite easy and rather simple – it was very clear what I could and couldn’t eat. I had no issues. Beauty on the other hand! That took me years to get right. It’s not as easy to spot non-vegan ingredients on the back of a moisturiser as it is with hummus! Even then, beyond checking if the ingredients are vegan, there’s no guarantee that the company in question is cruelty-free! Yes, shopping for vegan beauty is definitely a touch more complicated.
This is why I’m so happy to see so many vegan brands at Boots! In today’s post I’m going to ..read more

I recently got a list of all of the drinks at Hard Rock Cafe which are suitable for vegans and thought it would be helpful to share online! Unfortunately not all drinks are vegan – odd non-vegan ingredients can include honey, egg, milk and isinglass. Unfortunately, that last one comes up a lot in alcoholic drinks. Which is why it’s so helpful to have a vegan list!

Holland & Barrett have just announced their beauty advent for 2021! I’ve taken a look and am pleased to announce that for the second year in a row it’s going to be fully vegan and cruelty-free! The calendar doesn’t have a launch date just yet, but you can sign up for alerts here.
This is likely to be one of the best bargains for vegan beauty lovers this Christmas as you can get £170 worth of beauty products for just £45! Whether you keep everything to yourself or bulk up Christmas stockings with these products, it’s definitely good value for money!

Beauty advents are a great way to save money by bulk buying a bunch of beauty products – but it can be difficult to find ones on the market which are full of exclusively vegan and cruelty free products. That’s where this guide comes in handy – you can find popular beauty advents categorised between: vegan and cruelty-free, just cruelty-free and not cruelty-free. This list will grow as more beauty advent calendars are released.

Welcome to your ultimate guide to vegan-friendly hair salons across the UK. If you’re interested in vegan hair salons within London, I’ll be putting that in a separate blog post. For now, I thought it would be best to focus on those outside of London – as I promise you there are far more than you first thought.
I’d like to thank my followers for sending in all of their favourite vegan-friendly salons and helping to put together this list. If you have any more to recommend, please pop me a message over on @veganbeautygirl and I’ll work to add them in. Extra helpful if you can let me know ..read more

There comes a point in life where you have to accept the skin you have. Learn to love it for it’s imperfections, accept the texture and just make peace. I’d done just that. Accepted my forever bumpy forehead and constant stream of minor breakouts. I’d come a long way from the acne I used to have and was really happy with my progress. I understood that it was the best it’d get for me.
Well, that’s until I started using Facetheory products. It all started with the C2 Clarifying Cleanser and the Porebright Serum N10 – they actually broke me out like crazy the first week I used them and then the n ..read more

Lush have launched on ASOS! You can now find introductory Lush bundles and shampoo bars on ASOS – making Lush products more accessible for a lot of people. But unfortunately ASOS aren’t too great at labelling which products/bundles are vegan – so read on to check which are.
We’ll also be chatting about why Lush chose to launch on ASOS – it was definitely a controversial move so let’s have a little chat about it.
