I know that I have been absent from here for awhile. This past month has been extremely difficult on my health. I have been in so much pain and fatigue that I cannot find the words to describe it. When you live your entire life online, it is absolutely heart wrenching to be too sick to interact or engage. I am in too much pain to describe what is going on, but please know that I haven’t abandoned you. I’m doing my best to just get through each day. I wanted to give a bit of insight as to one of the reason’s why this month has been particularly hard for me. All I ask is that you would stay by ..read more

My Crazy Self-Love Challenge
The Chronically Unimaginable

How often do we put an important focus to our well being? In this day and age where productivity means more than taking care of yourself, self love often falls to the wayside. Especially with one who has chronic illnesses, mental illnesses, and disabilities; taking the time out of the day to participate in self care seems frivolous. However, we often fail to realize that self care is vital in being able to continue progressing through each day. I’ve spoken about self care on this blog before, but today is very special. Nadine from ‘Home of Understanding’ has nominated me to complete 14 days o ..read more

That time of the month is here again! Wow, I feel like I just participated in June’s Chronic Illness Linkup. This year is going by fast! Just to review, Sheryl Chan from ‘A Chronic Voice’ hosts these monthly linkup parties. She comes up with different topics each month to write about and we interpret them however we please. This month’s topics are justifying, starting, analyzing, concluding, and planning. The rules are down below for anyone interested in joining. Let’s get started! Rules: You can only put 1 link per website Comment on a minimum of 2 other blog posts in the linkup. The linkup ..read more

The Sunshine Blogger Award: Multiplied
The Chronically Unimaginable
by thechronicallyunimaginable

The Sunshine Blogger Award. I’ve seen this award going around on Twitter, especially during April and May. To have been nominated for three blogger awards within six months of blogging is startling! As I have stated, none of what I have been doing is for my own recognition. It is all to help further break down the discrimination and stigma surrounding the chronic illness, mental health, and disability communities. Getting this third award is assuring in a way that what I’m doing is working. That to me, is more credible than receiving these awards. Although I am very grateful for the nominatio ..read more

Playing the Waiting Game
The Chronically Unimaginable

As someone who has never “officially” worked before in their life, getting monetary help from the government proves to be very difficult. I fell ill when I had recently turned 14 in 2011. This illness proved to be chronic and condition after condition piled onto my diagnoses chart. I am housebound and have continued to have gotten worse since the day I began to acquire those illnesses. In the government’s eyes, a person who has never worked, did not go to college, and who is not actively trying to get a job is trying to cheat the system. In some cases that is true, but increasingly, with chro ..read more

73 Questions About Me: A Vogue Parody
The Chronically Unimaginable

I had the honor of being nominated for this fun challenge by my best blogging friend, Bethany from ‘The Hidden Truths of a Disabled Girl. The challenge is a Vogue Magazine parody that is currently trending in the blogger-sphere right now (I haven’t heard of it until this nomination). Shows you how much I keep up with the times! This post is quite a fun thing to do and pretty convenient as well since I was planning on doing a more in depth post about myself anyways. I think I will even link this to my ‘About Me‘ page as a fun get to know me post. Thank you so much Bethany! I am so honored that ..read more

I have been nominated for the Liebster Award recently. This is an award that is given to bloggers by bloggers. As in my ‘Disability Award’ post, I think that this is the best type of award. Who better to pass on the honor, than one who is doing the same as you are?Especially when it is a good friend that nominates you! Thank you so much @BabyGirlBowen for nominating me. It is really such a privilege that you would consider me for this! I also echo your sentiment, it is awesome to be nominated after only having been blogging since the end of February. It shows how amazing this community is and ..read more

Listening to my Body: An Update
The Chronically Unimaginable

You have probably noticed that my blogging schedule has been quite a bit off recently. I wanted to address that in this post. The summer season is the worst season out of the year for me. So as we are reaching the 80’s (Fahrenheit) where I live, my heart is having a very difficult time. You may know that I have several conditions that prevent my body from regulating it’s own temperature. The most notable of these being POTS. I have been struggling to keep up with my 3 times a week blogging schedule and reduced it to twice a week as I mentioned in my previous post. However, I really feel that ..read more

Anxiety and PTSD: Connected?
The Chronically Unimaginable
by thechronicallyunimaginable

Did you know that PTSD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder are closely related? For example, “studies have shown that about 17 percent of people who have or have previously had PTSD experience GAD as well” (HHOsupport). What is the connection? Well, there are several overlapping symptoms between each condition that makes it difficult to determine which one you are experiencing. However, “co-occurrence may arise due to features of one disorder serving as risk factors for the development of the other” (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). Let me use my story as an example to show how these two diagnoses ..read more
