Our local base NAS Ft worth KNFW been the icon for us North Texans in military aircrafts… Here are some of the actions we get for the past months. US Marines VMFA-224 Bengals. They were on TDY in MCAS Miramar and heading home to MCAS Beaufort. Nowadays they fly a combination of F/A-18 C and D models. We got some great Actions from this Legion Air A-4L Skyhawk. This was photograph on 8-11-2023 in KEFD Ellington Field in Houston TX. This Single A-4L was doing some local flying and carrying this new pod on the centerline that they are testing. Thanks to Bill Havel we got 1st hand of these beautifully photographed A-4. June 2023…. North Texas area is piping hot ….. many days hitting 100 degreeF. This very hot month we have some A-10C from WHiteman AFB 303rd FS . 4 ship flew in from Whiteman AFB toward NAS Ft worth JRB ( KNFW) and they stayed to fly some local actions. One of the pilot was doing his final mission and he gave us a show before peeling for a perfect landing on RUnway 36. Our local squadrons USMC VMFA-112 and 301st FW usually do their Drill weekend once a month and for my 1st 2023 actions for NAS JRB Ft worth our boys and girls don’t fail us. Weather was breezy and cloudy with wind gusting to 20 knots using Runway 18. Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. It is the home of multiple squadrons of the F-35B Lightning IIs of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Adversary Squadron VMFT-401, 4th Marine Airwing and the Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron VMX-1. We ended 2022 with the Aviation Nation in Nellis AFB. Home of the USAF jet demonstration team Thunderbirds and also home of the USAF 64th and 65th Adversary Squadrons. 2022 also marked the 75th Anniversary for the Air Adversary Squadrons. This year’s flying display included the USAF ACC F-35A, F-22A demonstration. US Navy F/A-18 and E/A-18G flight demonstration. Nellis also have their Tactical demonstration perform by the USAF Weapon School and also the Mighty USAF Thunderbirds.
