Watch the 2023 Business Impact Report webinar by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC).
The ITRC’s 2023 Business Impact Report shows that cybersecurity incidents targeting small businesses reported were a record-high in the three-year history of the BIR. Despite the record number of attacks, confidence in defense is up 15 percentage points from 2022.

The way individuals use, maintain, protect, and recover their identities varies due to different factors, including cultural influences and language barriers. The ITRC seeks to understand identity crimes in Asian communities and address the challenges experienced by identity theft victims who are members of San Diego’s Asian communities by providing culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate resources.

Watch the 2023 Consumer Impact Report Webinar by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC).
The ITRC’s 2023 Consumer Impact Report looks at the emotional, physical and practical effects on the day-to-day lives of victims, including lost opportunities. According to the report, 16 percent of ITRC victims surveyed reported thoughts of suicide, up from ten (10) percent in 2022 and eight percent in 2021.

Watch the 2022 Trends in Identity Report webinar by the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC). Highlights from the report include:
Most reported identity misuse was due to existing account takeover (61 percent – 3,637 victims).
Reports of misuse of both new and existing accounts were up 13 percent in 2022 compared to 2021.
In 2022, most victims who contacted the ITRC about compromised identities were impacted by a Google Voice scam (61 percent – 4,081 victims).
