Another major layoff has hit the tech industry. Twitch is reported to layoff of around 35% of its staff, around 500 workers anonymous sources told Bloomberg. Dan Clancy, Twitch CEO, has announced the termination of Twitch services in South Korea starting February 27, 2024. According to the blog post, the cost to operate Twitch in Korea was significantly higher in comparison to other countries. The NYPD charged the popular Twitch streamer and social media influencer, Kai Cenat with inciting a riot and other charges after a giveaway he set up prior turned south in Union Square and became out of control Friday afternoon.
