Discover The Sound of Violet, a rom-com story of two people who are unlikely to fall in love. If the name sounds familiar, you’re right! I’ve reviewed the book two years ago, and now, it’s available for everyone to stream on Blu-ray and DVD!
Be sure to stick around until the end for an exclusive excerpt, and check out my review of the book here.
From the acclaimed novel comes a romantic comedy about a man who thinks he found his soulmate, but his autism keeps him from realizing she’s a prostitute looking for a ticket out of her trapped life.
Experience the story through the lens of an autistic ..read more

While I’ve fallen out of my habit of writing reviews, I still try to read books whenever I can. Aside from the typical fiction and nonfiction books, I lean in into my interest in design, branding and advertising. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this is still an interesting read if you like case studies, design and businesses.

We’re finally in July and I’m one book away from my goal of 35 this year, which I’m very thrilled about. Despite being busy with my internship, reading (and watching Netflix) has been my way of trying to keep my sanity and remind me of who I am outside of the (somewhat unpredictable) 9-to-6.
Today’s book is one that I started sometime early this year. It’s a long one, dense with information and overall such a joy to read. It’s one that I’ll highly recommend to all who feel a little stuck in life and wants to see a new perspective.

If I can only recommend one book this year, this might be a contender. I consider this to possibly be the best crime/mystery book I’ve ever read.
The Woman in the Library
by Sulari Gentill
BOOK SUMMARY
In every person’s story, there is something to hide…
The ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is quiet, until the tranquility is shattered by a woman’s terrified scream. Security guards take charge immediately, instructing everyone inside to stay put until the threat is identified and contained. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers, who’d happened to sit at the same ..read more

It has been a while since I last posted. Life doesn’t get easier, and somehow between a 9-to-6 and maintaining my habit of reading, I’ve decided that expressing my thoughts and feelings for the craft would have to take the backseat.
While I am juggling around 5 books at the moment, reviews will be slow as I put my work first. Thank you for your patience and I hope this book and review will entertain you.

Today’s book was truly refreshing. It’s one I’ll highly recommend, which is rare for me since I’m not a big reader of romance but I’m excited to explore more of this author’s book.
I won’t take up any more of your time. Let’s get into it.

We’re nearing the middle of the year, and honestly, I can’t believe how quick it has been. Not too long ago, I was writing about my reading goals for the year. Somehow, we’re in May. It’s terrifying.
Today’s book is a little open to self-interpretation and possibly, reflection. It’s a good segue into the idea of counting your blessings, maybe consider the past few years in a worldwide lockdown, and possibly hope for the years ahead. Time is moving incredibly fast. I can’t help but want to slow down.
This book tackles just that.

It has been a while since I’ve reviewed poetry and we’re slowly getting through that long list from May two years back. Yes, that one ‘Poetry May’ event lasted for a couple of years and now I’m reaping what I’ve sown.

For a long time, poetry has been a personal thing for me, cathartic in its ability to lend voice to my thoughts. However there comes a time in every writer’s life when the need to have one’s work appreciated by others overcomes the reticence of their nature. With this book, I have reached the point where I can let you, the rea ..read more

May marks Asian Pacific month, which is why I’m thrilled to share this book with you today! Growing up, I’ve been surrounded by coffee drinkers, except for my uncle, who has a deep love for tea. I remember his earthen teapots, tea trays, round, stacked, disks of tea leaves, and how he sits at his tea station whenever we spent Chinese New Year in his house to brew tea.
I can’t wait to spend Chinese New Year there again. This time, with a new appreciation for tea.
