My stomach makes a lot of noise on Metformin so my dr said she could change it to the extended release one. Is their less side effects with it? Does it lower your blood sugar better or longer? Why isn’t that prescribed first instead of the regular one ..read more

Hi, I have not been around for a long time, but used to visit as "Moneymeister" a long time ago. I am in year 10 and have started at 7 and below until this past year. I am now struggling to keep the sugar under control, even though I have not changed the lower carb approach. My last A1c was 8, and my fastings are about 190-200. This is even if I had lower carb the day before (about 100 carbs). This is not okay and I need to figure this out and do better. I am on ozempic and metformin ..read more

Eggs That Have Highest Vitamin D

My blood test results showed that I have a vitamin D deficiency. This bothered me because I eat a 3-egg omelet and tilapia every day. In my Google search, I discovered that Egg*Land's Best Eggs have the highest Vitamin D content, with 30% per egg compared to just 6% per egg for all others. The reason is that they feed their hens a superior diet. Egg*Land's Best Eggs are priced similarly to others. After switching to Egg*Land's Best Eggs, a 3-egg omelet provides 90% of the daily required... Read more ..read more

You all have been great at answering my questions that I have more! I understand the low alerts because then you can take something for them, but why have the "before high" alert when it doesn't correct? Got sick, numbers over 200 for a few hours, then finally went down but only to 140. Finally had a night where numbers were between 90 - 100! Daytime numbers seem to stay between 140 - 165 (when not sick) and tends to jump up 200s in the afternoon. Sensitivity is at 2. Medtronics no... Read more ..read more

Get off Metformin or stay on?

I was diagnosed diabetic 5 months ago with A1C of 6.8 and FBG of 126. I was put on 500 mg metformin. I've been able to lose around 45 pounds since then and cleaned up my diet and I exercise regularly. I recently went back in for my first follow-up and my A1c was 5.2 and FBG was 97. My FBG at home does seem to bounce around between 90-115--Probably a daily average of 103. I have used a CGM for the last 30 days and was 100% TIR for 70-140--the highest spikes I ever saw were around 150... Read more ..read more

Hello, my name is Reginald, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes around August 2022. Weighed around 125kgs by then and lost around 20kgs by December of that year due to Diabetes. 2023 was my worst year but I got help from a medical doctor. Currently I have managed to get my blood sugar back to normal levels. I'm here to share my experience, learn from others as well. I'm documenting a series of e-books of the reversal of the disease. Thanks ..read more
