The Day I Met My Musical Hero, Ryuichi Sakamoto

It was a crisp fall day in 2018 when my friends and I decided to visit the Music Research Library in Providence, Rhode Island. As music students from the local university, we frequented the library for its extensive collection of vinyl records, sheet music, and historical documents. Little did we know that this ordinary visit would become an unforgettable memory. As we entered the library, we immediately noticed posters from Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Coda" documentary and the "async at the Park Avenue Armory" performance on display. All of us admired Sakamoto's work, as his music had left a profoun ..read more

If Only I Got Spalding's Autograph Too!

"Wilsooooooon!!" I'll never ever forget that famous line! "Cast Away" was one of my favorite films. It made me uncomfortable, scared that that might happen to me, but at the same time, I was amazed at how Tom Hanks was able to survive on a deserted island!  I remember, back when the movie premiered, I went there with my friends. At that time they were crazy over celebs and wanted to get their autographs. You'd think they'd follow matinee idols like Leonardo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt but no, they were most excited to see Tom Hanks, of all people. Well, I was too! I mean, the guy's a legend! Wh ..read more

The Hottest "Tarzan" I've Ever Seen

Whoever cast  Alexander Skarsgard as Tarzan deserves a massive race. That guy is the perfect actor for the part. And I'm not just talking about looks either (though they're a huge part of it, undeniably!). There's just something about him that's beastly, almost primal in a way, that made the hottest Tarzan ever!  I saw it myself when I got to meet him face-to-face during the red carpet premiere of "Legend of Tarzan."Even though he was in a suit and tie, he had an animalistic appeal about him, as if his gaze meant that he'd devour you. Me, being the hunk-chaser that I am, was practic ..read more

Such Sparkling Vampires!

Who could ever forget the phenomenon that was the "Twilight" series? It was the most hyped movie franchise of its time, with its lead stars gaining instant fame, fan wars popping up left and right, and a whole new trend centered on vampires. I, myself, was quite the fan of it too!  Insult my taste if you must but I won't deny it. I loved the "Twilight" series. Yes, they were cheesy, some were cringy, and because of it, I now see vampires in a totally different light. But I don't care. During a rather dark time in my past, reading the books and watching the movies gave me some solace. How ..read more

Celebrating The Icon Named Pink

Pink is an icon. It's too bad that many other pop stars and starlets have overshadowed her these past few years, but in the early 2000s, she was the badass rock diva everyone listened to. In my opinion, she's still great now, but I admit, she's not as famous as she used to be.  And this is why I thought it was genius that they made a new documentary about here. "Pink: All I Know So Far" follows the pop/rock superstar as she embarked on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour. It's a beautiful look into her life, not just as a big-named artist, but also as a wife, mother, boss, and more. Personal ..read more

My Luckiest Day with A Rockstar

It's crazy how makeup and the right attitude can change a man. For years, I've listened to, in my opinion, the most iconic rock band in music history: KISS. You probably know them for their famous black and white face paint look. But when you meet at least one of the members in person, you'll realize there's more to them than meets the eye.  I can certainly say this confidently since I've met one of them in person. And it was none other than Gene Simmons himself. That's right! The man, the myth, and the absolute legend. I'm still wondering what I did in my past life that I could be so lu ..read more

Is Beyonce Even Human!?

You guys! I met Beyonce and wow! Is she even human!? Like, I expected her to be beautiful and all but damn! The woman is gorgeous, alluring, and so magnetic. I don't know what it is about her that drew me in as if I was hypnotized. Now I see why the Beyhive is so cray cray!  It was during her concert. I had just collected many copies of her iconic "Dangerously in Love" album cover posters and I planned to have her sign them. Of course, even if I didn't get her autograph, just seeing her live was enough. The woman is the true definition of a superstar. She's got so much energy on stage, I ..read more

The Green Lanterns Glows on The Red Carpet

While most people know Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, I'm old enough to remember him as the Green Lantern. Was he good at it? He was fine. Was it a good film? Debatable. But I did get to meet him, his wife Blake Lively, and the rest of the cast at the movie premiere.  It was at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre and it was a fairly glamorous affair. The MCU had just recently started at the time so everyone was excited about a brand new superhero film. And while the Green Lantern is from DC, the buzz around this movie was still a lot. I remember it being a pretty hectic night myself. So much so t ..read more

Firemen Really Know How To Keep It Hot!

There really is something so sexy about firemen. I'm not one to sexually fantasize about certain professions myself but I have to admit that seeing a macho man in a fireman uniform tickles me inside. And because of that, I'm grateful for "Chicago Fire" for helping me watch that fantasy every week on TV.  As the saying goes, "the clothes make the man," and for some in a fireman uniform, that's more than accurate. However, the cast of "Chicago Fire" already looked hot to begin with. Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Joe Minoso and David Eigenberg are already so dang attractive even without the ..read more

I'll Always "Remember The Titans"

The 90s and early 2000s were an era of inspirational period films. "Dead Poets Society," "Mona Lisa Smile," and more. Many of them centered on inspirational teachers who influence their students to do better, come out of their shells, and realize their true potential. My personal favorite was "Remember The Titans."  True to its name, "Remember The Titans" starred a bevy of Hollywood titans. There was Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, accomplished actor Will Patton, a fresh Ryan Gosling, a then-unknown Kate Bosworth, and a young Hayden Panettiere to boot. To make it even better, the ..read more
