January 2013, Yuba City, CA. In a small town north of Sacramento, CA, 94-year old Leola Shreves was found dead in her home by her son-in-law. Windows were broken and Leola had been badly beaten. After only a few months, police arrested and obtained a confession from Leola’s neighbor, Michael Alexander. Ultimately the charges against Alexander were dropped after DNA evidence vindicated him from the false confession.
