Second Life Mobile – April 2024 Update On Friday 19th April 2024 Linden Lab blogged about the latest progress they are making on the new Second Life mobile app via Lab Gab. On 15th April 2024 a new build was released for Second Life Premium Plus users that are currently testing out the Second Life Mobile private alpha app. The Second Life mobile team have now rolled out new additional updates to avatar rendering as well as avatar shapes and deformers. On Monday 15th April Linden Lab officially announced that volunteer applications for SL21B are now open. The lab are looking for residents that have a passion and have the skills to help make sure SL21B is a huge success. Volunteers are needed to welcome new guests to the birthday celebrations and give out handy information/gifts. For all those that get accepted there will be pre-birthday training sessions that you have to complete first. The current Second Life user daily concurrency remains flat still after four months into 2024. The Second Life user daily concurrency levels hasn’t really improved that much for the past 12 months. The Second Life user daily concurrency is now averaging between 27, 000 (min) – 51, 000 (max), So far in 2024 the highest concurrency for Second Life was 53, 016 on 19th February 2024 and since then it’s not reached 54, 000 or 55, 000. As many know earlier this week Linden Lab increased the land impact allowance by lowering the mesh download weight by 15% for all of Second Life. Anyone that owns or rents land can now see more land impact available on their parcels on the grid. Yay! Linden Lab just published a blog post named Mobile Update: April 2024 – new builds, avatar updates! via the Second Life official blog. The lab have made alot of good progress over the past two months from improving avatars and improving teleports which have been at the top of the list.
