A couple of new ebook readers called Xiaomi iReaders have turned up for pre-order at Banggood, but unfortunately the prices aren’t very competitive. They aren’t new devices exactly but it looks like these brand of ereaders have only been available in China until now. And apparently Xiaomi has nothing to do with the actual product, other than selling them. There’s also a newer 6-inch iReader model called the A6 but it’s not available on Banggood yet. The Kindle Paperwhite is Amazon’s most popular and best selling Kindle model of all time. It was first released back in 2012, and Amazon just released the 4th generation Paperwhite last fall so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. It looks like the makers of the new 10.3-inch E Ink E-Pad tablet that’s available on Indiegogo right now already have a new project in the works. EeWrite is looking to be the first company to release a dual screen tablet with a color LCD screen on one side and a monochrome E Ink screen on the other side. They’re calling it the E-Pad X. There have been a few E Ink phones that have an E Ink screen on the back, like the Hisense A6, but there haven’t been any tablets with E Ink screens yet. The Eewrite E-Pad is a new 10.3-inch E Ink ereader and digital notepad that runs Android, similar to the Onyx Note Pro and Likebook Mimas. They first started accepting pre-orders on Kickstarter a couple months ago, and now they’ve started a second round of pre-orders for the E-Pad over on Indiegogo, with shipments expected to go out in September 2019. With the release of the new entry-level Kindle with frontlight for 2019, Amazon added a new feature to Kindle ereaders and Kindle apps that lets you sort your Kindle content by read and unread titles. The Read/Unread filter applies to Kindle ebooks, comics, Audible audiobooks, periodicals, and personal documents. You can view all your read/unread titles for each category or for your entire library. You can mark books as read or unread by long-pressing the title from the library view on your Kindle. Amazon has rolled out a new Alexa feature to help manage your Kindle and Audible libraries using voice commands. There’s a new banner at the top of the Manage Your Content and Devices page at Amazon notifying customers about the new feature. It says: “Using Alexa, you can now send ebooks, audiobooks, personal documents, etc., to your Kindle or remove them permanently from your library.” To give it a try you just have to say, “Alexa, manage my content”.
