School is out and summer has begun!! Our big trip this year is a road trip to brand new places and brand-new experiences. Our first stop took us over 10 hours way to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. Adding a new state to our wall and this place was amazing!! We stayed in the Woodland Cottages while my parents stayed across the way in the Sunset Terrace Rooms. Both places were amazing! While we both had AC, our lodging was a little more rustic with no tv. We had two queen beds and two double beds, two in each room, a mini fridge with a coffee maker. The windows opened so we could enjoy a ..read more

This is our second year as Season Pass-holders at Dorney Park and we love it! The passes come with free parking and I add on the drink pass. I highly recommend doing the same. The crowds don’t seem as bad as some other amusement parks in the area, there’s plenty of shade and rides for everyone.
My youngest loves checking out some of the tamer rides. This trip was made with my parents who took him on some of his favorites while I decided to check out the newest roller coaster: the Iron Menace. If you decide to ride, please make sure that you check out the test seat at the front before getting ..read more

New Year Resolutions: we all make them and very few of us complete them. Go to the gym, no alcohol, eat better, organize better. All of these are just a few of the more common ones. I know they were often on mine. But this year I’ve decided to switch things up. Our main resolution will be to travel more or learn more that will help us travel. Whether it’s an hour trip or going across the country, life is too short to not explore.
Some things that we can learn to help us travel is a new language. One of my daughters are taking German in school, my youngest is learning Spanish and while I took ..read more

The world these days is full of confusion, uncertainty, and turmoil. Travel and vacation plans might be on hold but you can still find fun during quarantine and explore your local area. Hiking is a great way to discover new places and get some exercise (I might have added the Quarantine 15 ugh). My children and I decided to explore different parks and trails in our state, including some treasure hunts!
Our first weekend we decided to head up to Swatara State Park to check out Bordner’s Cabin, a cabin that was built in 1939 by a local teacher and his students with materials they found nea ..read more

Have you ever had a helicopter ride? Or have you seen a helicopter from very close? We had an amazing experience last week while visiting the American Helicopter Museum. My 6-year-old son Chase and I were invited by the museum and honestly, it blew our expectations.
The AHMEC (American Helicopter Museum and Education Center) is just outside West Chester, Pennsylvania and it was very easy to get there as they have access from several major highways.
It opened to the public around 20 years ago with the beautiful purpose of making a “tribute to the man and women who pioneered the development of ..read more

What comes to mind when you first think of winter? Snow, cold, days off school? If you live in Pennsylvania, your winter thoughts include sledding, ice skating, hockey, skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing just to name a few! Even though we haven’t had much of a winter down where we live, my sister and brother-in-law bought my children and myself snow tubing tickets for Christmas and this month we headed up to Camelback Mountain Resort in the Pocono Mountains to have some fun.
Camelback Mountain Resort offers skiing, snowboarding, a gorgeous resort and even an indoor water area called Aquatop ..read more

Today’s blog post is going to be a little different than our usual traveling and having fun posts but it deals with being a mom and with November 4th. My son Jason is 15 years old and is a typical teenager with the attitude and not wanting to hang out with his mom. But he is also a very strong and brave person. He’s been diagnosed with Asthma, Costochondritis and Hemiplegic Migraine Syndrome along with one more condition. The last condition he was diagnosed with is the most painful chronic pain condition known to man. Jason was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome ..read more

Being the youngest of 5 children means my 6 year old son Chase gets to try so many new things and discover new places with his older brothers and sisters. His newest adventure was trying the Clip ‘N Climb at Spooky Nook Sports.
He’s never tried anything like this before but was so excited to try. His older brother was doing an event with the Young Marines at Spooky Nook so Chase and I decided to check it out. They have 10 climbing walls including a Leap of Faith (which he was too scared to try). Some were very hard but he tried, his favorite was this circle one
He made it almost to the top ..read more

On Saturday, my youngest and I decided to check out the2019 PA Family Expo that was being held at Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim Pennsylvania while his brother was participating in Young Marines. The PA Family Expo offered fun activities for the kids with trick or treating, bounce house, face painting and balloon animals; while different vendors and companies had tables set up for the parents ranging from schools and daycares to dentists to small businesses. They even offered giveaways and raffles that you could enter. Each child received a free cinch bag with goodies for coming there a ..read more
