For years, heart disease was considered a man’s disease. However, we now know that heart disease is the leading cause of death for women as well as men. Although men tend to develop coronary artery disease earlier in life, after age 65 the risk of heart disease in women is almost the same as in men. Cardiovascular disease is the number-one cause of death in both men and women. Statistics from the American Heart Association show that one woman every minute dies from heart disease in the U.S.
But It wasn’t always this way, before 1987, more men than women died of heart disease ..read more

Running is one of the most popular exercises people do maintain health. Running is good for you: Running brings a whole host of physiological benefits, including an improved cardiovascular system, stronger heart, greater blood volume and improved resistance to infection to name a few.
I remember when I was boxing back in the early 1970’s I used to run five miles a day while in training. But did all that running cause me to get a hip replacement because the hip joint was so damaged it caused me great pain?

Why You Should Eat Soup It Increases Vegetable Consumption
Many Americans don’t get the recommended amount of vegetables. If there is one thing that I am 100% certain of, it is that diet and exercise is the best way to live a happy and healthy life. Not only does it protect you from many diseases, but it can also help you get off some medications.
Many doctors are now prescribing exercise instead of medications.
“There’s definitely a disconnect when it comes to prescribing physical activity,” says Dr. Sallis, a family physician at Kaiser Permanente and founder of Exercise Is Medicine (EIM), an initiative launched by the American Council of Sports Medicine that works to elevate the role that health ..read more
