Most of you will know that as a couple we are fairly “Loyal to Royal” and are diamond members with Royal Caribbean. However with the increasing cost of cruising and two kiddos to please we are constantly checking out the costs and new ships offered by other cruise lines. Which recently brought us to MSC Cruise lines and we were pleasantly surprised indeed. I will write a review of the cruise itself and food etc in another post. But for now I would like to share with you a review about cabin 8242 on Deck 8. Now I’ve said this before many times but one of the things we hear constantly on Faceboo ..read more

What is better than a cruise? A FREE cruise of course!! I spend at least an hour per week entering holiday and cruise competitions. I have even been lucky enough to have a few wins… Most competitions take less than a minute to enter, so it can be well worth giving it a go. After all you have to be in it to win it right? To make competitions easier to find I have put together a full list of recent and latest competitions to enter in the UK. Just remember to check the closing date and sail date before entering. There isn’t much point entering a competition for a cruise that you cannot sail on ..read more

The new drinks packages have been available on board Iona and Ventura since May 20, 2023 and will be launched across the rest of the fleet by the end of July 2023. P&0’s new drinks packages range from £10.95 per person per day right up to £54.95 per person per day. These prices will include a 10% discount if you purchase before boarding. We are definitely seeing some price increases compared to the old packages but in my personal opinion I am really happy with th ..read more

Cruise Addict

You’re going on a cruise, you are taking formal gear that has been screwed up in your suitcase for over 24 hours, you aren’t allowed to take a clothes iron but hey surely you can take a clothes steamer? Sadly most cruise lines do not allow travel irons or steamers to be packed and taken on board. Check out this post to find out the rules for each cruise line and who allows clothes steamers. Let’s face it, clothes steamers (and irons) are not particularly safe and you are on a cruise ship, the last place you want a fire to break out. Clothes steamers do feel a safer option compared to clothes ..read more

Johnny Rockets Onboard Royal Caribbean Review

Popular fast food chain Johnny Rockets debuted in 1999 on the Royal Caribbean ship Voyager of the Seas. Offering burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes and an array of other delicious fried food it’s a real change to try something different when onboard.  Johnny Rockets onboard Explorer of the Seas I will be the first to admit, back in 2014 when we took our first cruise my opinion was always “we don’t pay for food on cruises” why would we? We get delicious food included in the cruise fare and the cruise cost enough in the first place. So why on earth would we pay even more? Ahh how things have chan ..read more

Can I Take Alcohol On My Cruise? Cruise Line Rules
Cruise Addict
by Kirsty

One of the most expensive parts about cruising can actually be what you drink onboard. More and more cruise lines are starting to introduce the “all inclusive” experience, and I for one love it when I can snap up a deal with a drinks package included! However this is not the case for all cruises and sometimes it’s nice to take that favourite bottle of wine onboard to consume in the cabin. Cruise lines, not surprisingly, make an awful lot of profit from you purchasing alcohol onboard. So it’s not surprising that they try and limit you on what you bring onboard yourself. Most cruise lines limit ..read more
