Cheroot Holder Anyone?

I almost shelled out for this. Then I realized I would never use it. It looks like something Monet would have used on the veranda after a day of painting by the pond. It blows my mind that this object still exists in this condition and is being sold on eBay. Meerschaum Cheroot Holder ..read more

Coloring Bowl
Pipe Smokers Den

Hello, an idea hit me recently. I’ve got a beautiful meerschaum that I carry in my bag every day and smoke daily for my morning smoke. The bowl size is perfect for what I intended it, that sit down with a coffee of 25-35 minutes, and then get on with your day. But sometimes, I’ll sit down with my mother in a cigar lounge, and then while she and her friend smoke one cigar for 2-3 hours, I have to pack 4-5 bowls. Now I know a pipe bowl will never come close to a cigar, save for a couple of... Read more ..read more

Is it possible to identify and date a 1960’s era Peterson Pipe? If so, could someone give the Cliffs Notes version of doing that? I would like to find a 1964 one if that is even possible with Peterson Pipes ..read more

Buffing Wheel Tip
Pipe Smokers Den

I might be the last guy to figure this out. But I haven’t read about it before so I’m posting it. I’ve been struggling for awhile to get a decent shine on stems in a reasonable amount of time. My wheels are old and have buffed a 1000 plus stems. A cleaning tool helped. But not much. I was considering new wheels. So today I was buffing a Dunhill ebonite stem which should be easy but was not. I suddenly got the idea to take the wheel off the mandrel and flip it so it spins the other way... I think I may have went a little overboard lol. I also have a MM Country Gentleman for a beater pipe. This one will be for special occasions (maybe ). I was actually quite skeptical of my decision to enter this hobby, because I smoked my first bowl ever out of my MM corn Cobb of Cobblestone Kentucky Plug prior to this package coming and to say I was totally turned off by it would be an understatement. I did however, pack a nice bowl of the Pennsylvania Dutch Treat last night. It took... Read more ..read more

Pipe restoration adventures

Hello all, After many nights of googling, forums, and YT hunting, I decided to get some pipes to tinker on. I discovered the hard way that pipes look much more prominent online. I'm still feeling out the styles of pipes I was looking to smoke/work on. I found myself drawn to the Custombilt squat style of pipes. So I went on eBay and picked up a bunch of estate pipes in various conditions, many of them in the $10 to $20 range, so I could test my skills on something I am not afraid to... Read more ..read more

So here's the heartbreak in pipe making. I have a block, it's from Calabria, it's 40 years old. It's huge, it's wonderful, the crust is dense and even, shaped beautifully. and the grain? Don't even kid. It's crazy. Stellar. A perfect cut on a wonderful burl. So you agonize, you draw the pipe, you make a cut.... And... TADA! It's borked. [ATTACH... Read more ..read more
