Hey. So I started purchasing MS Office a few years ago. And I've definately been using Word/Excel at least once a month this whole time lol. But according to Microsoft the last time I was charged was exactly 2 years ago.... For.... 0 dollars... What?!: https://imgur.com/a/WbvzPOv Is Office just... free now? I even have 5GB of one cloud. I apparently haven't given them any money for at least the past 2 years. IIRC it was a yearly subscription? submitted by /u/HomeIPChromeYmail [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I got home from work today and just wanted to play Minecraft. I open the launcher and it makes me sign in again. I put in my email and it says "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" I go to my gmail to see if anything has been sent to me about an email change cause maybe i'd been hacked but nothing at all sent to my gmail. I start looking through help.microsoft.com and find absolutely nothing useful other than an account recovery form that just tells me "That Microsoft account doesn't exist" like what am i supposed to do. I know my email has probably been changed but how come i can't make a f ..read more

Windows 11, Sudden Hyper-V Issue

Myself and a fellow colleague use Lenovo L14 Gen 5 Intel i7 laptops, running Windows 11 and a couple of Hyper-V Windows 11 VMs on each to facilitate PAW. We’ve been using these happily for near to a year now, up until today… The Windows 11 host is managed by SCCM, as well as the other Windows 11 VMs that are running on the host. The VMs are beefy, running with 8GB+ of RAM (not dynamic), 6 vCPUs and a decently sized .vhdx. My colleague alerted me today that when trying to access their VMs via Hyper-V manager connection, they were experiencing really bad input lag making the VM unusable. We tro ..read more

Microsoft 365 settings without apps

So my company is going to Microsoft 365, but a significant number don't need/use the apps. Therefore when they're logged in online they have access to the online version of the basic apps. What am I not doing that some run into their system telling them they need to log into apps they don't have when, say, attempting to open a Word document sent to them by email and their picking up that email with Outlook online? Is there a setting to change? Do I have to uninstall anything 365 on their computers? I'm missing something. submitted by /u/sitewolf [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

hello i dont know if this is the right place to ask, and this is a stupid question but i need help.. i “bought” a free trial back in march to work on ONE word document for school, afterwards, i never used it again. i was very stupid and forgot to cancel my subscription because i never touched my laptop after that one time ;-;. thankfully for me, the payment method i set up did not have any funds in it since i am poor (lol) so it didnt charge me. After the free month, i checked services in my account and it told me that the subscription has been cancelled since it “expired” on april 9. however ..read more

Which certifications are useful? (Infrastructure, Modern Work and Security)

So I managed to find this roadmap for exams but after some research I saw a lot of people suggesting that MS-900 is a waste of time. After discussions with my manager and also looking at other job opportunities I would like to look into getting certifications for Azure and Office 365 admin. Due to this I have mainly been looking at the Infrastrucutre, Modern Work and Security columns - but I am unsure which to take. I have also noticed that some exams require pre-requestits which I didn't realise at first, making it even more confusing. So, with that in mind, which exams should I actually loo ..read more
