Shot a ceremony with two others recently. One videographer and myself shot one continuous clip of the ceremony , the third shot multiple clips unknowing we had to sync them afterwards for the edit for multiple edit. I know you can sync clips together on premiere, but … Is it possible to sync all of the individual clips from the third shooter with the two others? There are about 10 that I’d like to put into my multi cam edit line. Any tips appreciated- thanks ? submitted by /u/Crazyplan9 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I’m starting a vlogging YouTube channel soon and I own a ZVE-10, I would be using it to record up to the entire day or multiple days at once, I come here to ask if my what I’m looking to buy makes sense for this situation :) Sony SEL1018.AE, 10-18 with internal stabilization (since it’s APSC it’s like a 15-27mm + the internal zoom on the camera that is probably good enough for a youtube video) DSTE batteries (about 10 of them, so about 120€, not really sure if it’s enough capacity or if I should go for 20, could probably charge overnight most days) x3 SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO m30 Unsu ..read more

My budget ( 2400 $ more or less) so i decided to buy a brand new camera and upgrade to a better newer camera from my good old a6000 . i have a couple of options and I am in need of professional opinion and guidance. I have my eye on the sony a7iv with the kitlens 24-70mm or the prime 50mm 1.8 but then the lumix s5ii caught my attention and from the reviews i found it's better on some aspects than the a7iv , is that the case ? because the difference in price is quite apparent . I'll tell you guys the main things that I'll be using the camera for Weddings Photography/Videography Short Films Pro ..read more

What number ND filter should I buy for Sony 16-50mm kit lens?

I bought the A6700 and have been waiting months to get started. Mainly in wait for the perfect lens (thought it'd be the Sigma 16mm f1.4) but I much prefer zoom lenses as versatility in travel, and video is more my thing than photos. So I've just decided to start with the kit lens for now. I'm not a total noob but researching too much and the information overload normally stifles you in starting. I'm looking for the right variable ND filter. The Sony kit lens 16-50mm (40.5) is a temporary thing so I don't want to spend more than I need to yet. K&F have several ranges. Nano D, K, X etc. Wh ..read more

Video wall to double up as windows?

I have a wall in my house that I can't install any windows in, which is annoying as it would look out to a nice wooded area. I saw a how-to video where this chap hooked up 3 TVs vertically and played background videos like beaches etc which I thought was pretty cool. I know I need a video wall connector and several TVs, but rather than just showing random videos I thought it would be good to hook up a camera instead that points to the woods behind the wall so it's as close to a window I can get... What I can't figure out is whether I should invest in a good camera or if a regular higher-ish e ..read more

I have decided to get the rode NTG3 along with an audient id4 mk2 for at home voice overs and stuff Now I am looking for an on camera solution that I can use as an output directly into the camera through the 3.5mm jack that also supplied phantom power for the ntg 3 I was looking at something that supplies phantom power through some batteries that I can plug right into the camera. Something like the f3 is pretty expensive which I cant afford currently Any other recommendations are welcome submitted by /u/JohnDoesPhotography [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Correct exposure for Panasonic V-log ?

I got a high dynamic range scene I want to expose properly, I'm choosing to retain highlights information, while having a very dark background. There is a character in that scene, and I want the correct skin tone exposure. In Panasonic V-log (GH5), the IRE scale goes from 10 IRE to 80, instead of 0 to 100. My highlights are hitting about 75 IRE, and the background is between 10 and 35 IRE roughly. Which IRE value should I aim for to expose skin tone properly in that case ? I've read on a V-log production guide that you shouldn't go above 55 IRE for skin tones in V-log, that seems fair. Basica ..read more

Mic recommendation

I have a budget of around 300 for the mic. I am looking to get a mic for both location sounds when I am doing a short film with no dialouge (purely location sounds). Stereo if possible for immersion, but mono could work as well... And... I will also be using this mic as my PC mic when I am not filming for discord calls with friends or voiceovers for videos. If my budget is not sufficient do let me know whats the cheapest/better option if i were to up my budget Thank you! submitted by /u/RW_1212 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
