Title: RED RUNS THE WITCHES THREAD Author: VICTORIA WILLIAMSON Released: 11 APRIL 2024 by SILVER THISTLE PRESS Genre: Literature, Thriller Wow! What a strange little tale of witchery. I was very confused most of the way through the story – up to the last few pages really. I still have a few questions about the smaller details, but overall, I really enjoyed the book. It was a short, quick read, which made me feel a lot of different things: not least of which was relief I live in modern times. I found the Warp chapters really interesting – seeing the world through the eyes of a young Christian ..read more

BBNYA TOUR | Sorrow’s Forest by Kaitlyn Corvus

Title: SORROW’S FOREST Author: KAITLYN CORVUS Released: 15TH JULY 2022 Genre: URBAN FANTASY REP: LGBT+  | TWs: Homophobia I have recently come to to love horror and urban fantasy reads, so I was really looking forward to this novel. I enjoyed that the forest nearly seemed to have a mind of its own and was irreversibly intertwined with Sorrow herself, as we learn more through the story. However, I felt the overall story was disjointed and at times didn’t make a lot of sense. Mackie wasn’t an easy character to empathise with as it felt a big part of his persona was held back constantly. Bl ..read more

‘A prickling sensation grew on the back of her neck, spreading up her scalp. It was the feeling of being watched. She whirled to face the doorway but it was empty. Raven O’Sullivan doesn’t remember what happened in Hyacinth House five years ago. When her father died during a paranormal investigation there, everyone said it was an accident, but she’s pretty certain it’s her fault. Her brother, Archer, wasn’t there that night. When asked to investigate the supposed ghost of Hyacinth House, he can’t resist saying yes. Even if his sister wants nothing to do with it. Éabha McLoughlin has ..read more

Massive THANK YOU to Dave and #TheWriteReads crew for organising this tour so quickly! I am so thrilled to be part of the team bringing this tour your way! I read the first novel – The Family Upstairs – in anticipation of this release. If you loved TFU, you’ll love The Family Remains! There are murders, family issues, and a cult at the heart of it all. This novel follows the children from the first book into their adult lives and examines how they’ve been affected by the events of their upbringing. WHAT A READ! Lisa Jewell is a master of her craft. She kept me guessing at each plot point and ..read more

#BLOGTOUR | The Cousins by Karen M. McManus

#TheWriteReads #BlogTour Oh my DAMN! What a story that was. The characters, the setting, the PLOT! I never saw it coming and oh, how I loved it. I thought I would fly through this, being another McManus story, and I was right. What a brilliant author. I was hooked by the third paragraph. There were definitely a few ‘just one more chapter’ late nights once I began. This is why I shouldn’t start a book at bedtime! This is a story of intrigue and secrets and utterly unredeemable characters, but also love, sorrow, and loss. There were so many twists that I felt I couldn’t trust anything! But that ..read more

The Wolf and the Water was so gripping! From the very beginning of the story, I felt as if I was there alongside Kala. It was an AMAZING book. Shhh…I know it’s late! Kepos is a city in a valley, and one that hasn’t been very kind to Kala. Her circle has mainly included her parents and her Lissa. And when her father dies, it really changes everything about her life. He was her person, her safe space, and her rock. She struggles without him, but realises very soon after her mother takes a new husband that all is kot as it seemed. Kala’s story takes us through her trial and struggles to determin ..read more

BLOG TOUR | What Unbreakable Looks Like by Kate McLaughlin

Hello Book Wanderers! Welcome to my stop on this blog tour! I’m really excited to tell you about this book. Things you should know first: it’s about sex trafficking, so massive trigger warning for anything even semi-related. This gives a hard look at the trafficking trade, as well as stereotypes and assumptions that go along with it. Dark and gritty, yet comical and witty, I struggled reading this book (had several cries and a few laughs), but also appreciated the message the author wove into it – we (women) are so much stronger than many people give us credit for. I loved the themes of femin ..read more
