This book was on my 2018 Reading and Review List. It’s now 2020… Yes, this is how long it has taken me to buy and read (or in this case, listen to) this book. In fact, it had taken me so long that when I eventually got around to listening to it, I was wondering where this book had come from and how it ended up in my TBR pile. But anyway, the audiobook is just under 3-hours long, and here are my thoughts on it. What is this book about? Essentially, this book is trying to re-write (or re-work) the traditional way that people do business. Since the start of the technology era, the rules of bus ..read more

I first heard about this book from Russell Brunson when he was giving a talk at one of his Funnel Hacking Live events. From that moment on, I saw the book mentioned a lot in entrepreneurship circles and was influenced to buy it and see what all the fuss was about. From a red ocean to blue ocean The idea behind the ‘blue ocean strategy’ is to move your business out of a red ocean market and into a blue ocean market. A red ocean is created when lots of businesses are operating in the same market space, all pretty much doing the same thing. All these businesses are targeting the same customers ..read more

If you’ve not heard about this book then you must have been living under a rock for the past several years. When it comes to business and entrepreneurship books, The 4-Hour Workweek is probably the most famous book in that category. The book’s author, Tim Ferriss, is a celebrity in his own right and a household name in entrepreneurship circles. So, considering I’m running a business book review blog, this was one of those books that I just HAD to include. First impressions I’m not quite sure what size book I was expecting to arrive when I ordered The 4-Hour Workweek, but it certainly wasn’t ..read more

After reading three other books by Daniel Priestley (and loving them all!) I was excited to get my hands on this book, 24 Assets. The subtitle states that this book will help you to “create a digital, scalable, valuable and fun business that will thrive in a fast-changing world”. Now, considering that I have several online businesses and websites, this sounded right up my street!  To the point! This book is a very practical business book that’s quite short and gets straight to the point. That’s what I love about Daniel Priestley’s books. They’re not full of fluff, and you’ll find it really ..read more

Digital Darwinism by Tom Goodwin

What is Digital Darwinism? That’s what I wondered too when I read the title of the book. Well, according to the author, Tom Goodwin: “Digital Darwinism shines a light on the future by exploring technology, society, and lessons from the past, so you can understand what to embrace and what to ignore.” We all know Darwinism when it comes to species; that it’s not the strongest or the quickest that survive, it’s those that can adapt and change. And if you take a look at the business and entrepreneurial landscape, the same thing applies, and that is what this book is looking at. Predicting the f ..read more

This book is all about how you can be a better leader. Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting a lot from this book. I assumed (from the title Extreme Ownership) that the whole book was going to be about you taking 100% responsibility and 100% ownership on everything. And yes, that principle is mentioned in this book, but there is also so much more! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised, and the book was much better than I expected it to be. The structure of the book The book is broken down into three parts: Part #1. Winning the War Within Part #2. The Laws of Combat Part #3. Sustaining Victory Wit ..read more

What is Broken Business about? This book looks at why scandals, misconduct, and corruption happen within businesses. The author, José R. This book was on my 2019 reading list and I was sooo looking forward to reading it. It’s a very popular book that has received several rave reviews on Instagram. Also, on the front cover, it boasts being the #1 Business Bestseller in Finance and Entrepreneurship. So it got to be good, right? The Sidewalk, The Slowlane, and The Fastlane The Millionaire Fastlane is broken up into three sections; The Sidewalk, The Slowlane, and The Fastlane. Surprisingly, I have owned this book for a good few years – wayyy before I started this blog and my YouTube channel. I remember reading it, enjoying it, thinking it was interesting, but then putting it back on the shelf and not being able to do anything with the information I had just learned. This time around, I am at a different place in my entrepreneurial journey, and I am now able to utilize the lessons in this book, so, I re-read it. What is 80/20 Sales & Marketing about? I’m sure you’ve probably already heard of the 80/20 Principle (also called the Pareto Principle). It’s a univers ..read more
