Considerations and my photography
Thoughts…How important is the essence? And how much does authorial urgency consume the bone? What I decide becomes crucial to my photography and how I present myself.
I want to be personal. Before all this.
Absolutely imperfect photography. The kind that is rarely seen anymore. In an orgy fixated on sharpness when, in documentary photography it has never been the point of arrival. We don't photograph ladybugs on a flower.
The photos, guys ..read more

A recent video by Justin Mott
It is something I was reporting since several years. That made me me meet a lot of haters all over the years. I think festivals and the approval syndrome created this situation in street photography with unuseful visual jokes, staged photos, collages (yes collages) and fake conceptual. Emotions and gestures are currently considered outdated but time is the only judge.
Festivals and instagram created this state of things. There is a lack of emotionality in many shots today that seem repetitive and like a sort of stylistic exercise, not real interest in the subjects ..read more

Black and white photography in downtown
I shift into a new gear. Yesterday in the centre, despite the heat these days. 12 kilometers. Black and white set in my Olympus Pen EP5. I am happy with the photos made ..read more

Photography is a huge space for anyone
In the world of photography, diversity is not just a buzzword – it's the essence of creativity and innovation.
As an Italian photographer based in Mexico, I've embraced this diversity throughout my career, shaping a unique profile that encompasses various genres and styles. Today, I want to share with you my journey and clarify a few misconceptions.
First and foremost, my passion lies in street photography. Roaming the vibrant streets of Mexico City, Oaxaca or anywhere I find myself, I capture moments that reflect the raw essence of life. But this visual ..read more

Everyday street photography and talkers
On the internet I happen to read about people who don't have a shred of decent street photography who talk, posing as great connoisseurs, saying how much of street photography is irrelevant. A dude typing on a prompt, generating images with AI and that should say it all…
But we know that taking street photography involves daily struggle. And if someone who talks too much doesn't even have a decent portfolio built up over the years, what does his opinion matter?
Street is hard
And these are my fragments. A continuous urban recital. A poem that takes your ..read more

When I hit the streets, my weapon of choice is the Olympus PEN E-P5.
Sure, it's not the newest kid on the block, but for street photography, it's all about capturing fleeting moments and the essence of a scene, not pixel-peeping perfection.
If a photograph made in Los Angeles in 2011 is still appreciated as the first time I exhibited it on a art gallery, why i should have issues with using a camera released 4 years after the first digital Pen?
The E-P5 is small and unobtrusive, letting me blend into the background and capture candid moments without scaring people off. It's lightweight, so I c ..read more

On threads again I read of photographers who take sides with censorship
As a published photographer and journalist, I have experienced firsthand the negative consequences of expressing strong political views in the industry. A few years ago, I was removed from a brand ambassador program due to my political beliefs. While the brand claimed that my removal was due to a company policy of not associating with individuals who express political opinions, I was aware that an executive at the same company had no qualms about sharing her own political views online, even using harsh language against in ..read more

For my professional gigs I made a choice
Yes, I initially thought of a Nikon, a Nikon D700 or D800…then I considered also Pentax…but I have already the best choice at home…in the sense that will be still Canon for me.
Currently I own 2 Canon Rebel: T3 and T7. And I have the 24mm and a Yongnuo 50mm. Full frame cameras utilize the entire image circle of my EF mount lenses, whereas my current APS-C sensor camera only uses a cropped portion of the image circle. This means that by moving to a full frame camera, I will effectively get wider angles of view from my existing lenses.

Something important to say here…
This selection immediately lights up with an instinctive street photography that enjoys a personal composition. Ask yourself how important it is to break away from what has already been seen and try to say something personal. Between anticomposition and impulse reaction. Influenced only by what I'm faced with.
The surprise of finding a landscape like this not very far from where I live deserves to be included this month. And it is an opportunity to declare that I am not a simple street photographer but much more, something slightly more complex to frame.
