Working at Blake Hall is always a joy. As one of their recommended wedding photographers, we're fortunate enough to have worked at this beautiful venue on many occasions. Blake Hall actually used to be one of our local wedding venues when we lived in Essex. Since relocating to Staffordshire, we don't work there quite as often as we used to, but it's a venue we're always happy to make the trip for. If you follow us on social media, you may have recently seen on our Instagram feed a post from us saying that it actually has one of the most beautiful ceremony rooms in the whole of Essex. That's no ..read more

10 Tips for your bridal preparations

Choose somewhere with as much natural light as possible. For the best possible photographs and film, choose to get ready somewhere with lots of natural light. Natural light is the most flattering and can help to avoid awkward shadows. Conservatories, rooms with big windows, sky lights or patio doors usually work best. 2. Have a hair and make up trial. Seriously. It may seem like an unnecessary additional expense but there is nothing more stressful than looking in the mirror and not being happy with what you see. You'll not just be upset in the moment, but you wont feel your best all day. I ..read more

Alongside weddings, we also shoot lifestyle family and newborn sessions. We love offering these sessions as we understand how important capturing precious family memories are. It's always an honour to be welcomed to join a family for such a milestone. This is nevermore the case than when we are invited to capture a newborn session for one of our previous wedding couples. Not only had Rachel & Tom had their wedding photographed by us, but also their engagement session. Working with them for so many of their big life events has been such a privilege and seeing their family grow is magic. As ..read more

When Jas & Sonkia originally got in touch with us, they described their plans as being a "Big raging Indian wedding" and from that moment we knew we wanted to be part of it! There's nothing we love more than a wild, busy day full of joy, emotion and dancing. When we come away from a day having not stopped from the moment we got there until the minute we leave, with everything feeling like a bit of a blur, we know it's been an immense day! Their wedding at Alrewas Haynes certainly did not disappoint! That's exactly what happened with Jas and Sonika's wedding. It was all go all day and we lo ..read more

This is why you should have a New Years Eve wedding

When Bonita and Ryan got in touch with us way back in 2021, there were more than 2 years still to go before their 2023, New years eve wedding. Booking so far in advance isn't unusual in the wedding world, with many popular venues frequently being booked around 3 years in advance. Some even have waiting lists! New years eve weddings have also become somewhat of a tradition for us and they're usually one of the highlights of our year. The atmosphere is always great and everyone is up for a party. Bonita and Ryan's wedding was no exception! We were especially excited about working at Swynford Man ..read more

A Vegan wedding to remember: Becky & Nick

Becky & Nick's vegan wedding at the Reid Rooms was one that we felt like we'd been looking forward to for ages by the time it came around. I'll always remember the first time I chatted to Becky on the phone prior to them confirming their date with us. It was like chatting to an old friend and genuinely felt like a long overdue catchup rather than an initial meeting. I came away from that phone call really hoping they'd decide to book because it felt like we'd be a really great fit for their day. Thankfully, they did decide to book and finally, back in October Sam had the opportunity to sho ..read more

Mollie and Nath’s wedding hasn’t stopped making my little elder emo heart sing ever since I set eyes on the final wedding gallery. This was a wedding that Sam photographed alone, so I totally missed out on all the pretty on the day itself. From Mollie’s black wedding dress, Nath’s incredibly detailed suit, THOSE bridesmaid dresses and the blackest of black wedding cakes. I have serious wedding envy and I’m gutted this was a one photographer job because I feel like I’d have been in heaven all day! All black everything: Mollie's black wedding dress There were so many gorgeous and unusual details ..read more

With more and more wedding venues banning the use of confetti on their premises, increasingly couples are looking for alternatives to confetti on their wedding day.  Thankfully, there are plenty of alternatives to confetti for couples who still want that traditional wedding exit photo. Many alternatives to confetti have the added bonus of being reusable (and therefore re-sellable, woo!) This can help towards making your wedding more environmentally friendly, if that’s something that’s important to you. So, what are some alternatives to confetti? Bubbles Bubbles are a cheap and effective ..read more

Alex & Jack’s stunning Harlaxton Manor wedding by Staffordshire wedding Photographers

Alex and Jack's Harlaxton Manor wedding was another level of gorgeous. It was our first time shooting at this venue so we went in with an open mind and no expectations. Having researched it when Alex and Jack first got in touch, it was (is) clearly stunning so we had high hopes. Not least because we'd also previously photographed the wedding of Danielle and Ben, friends of the grooms. You may recognise Danielle and Ben if you follow us on social media. Their epic wedding was the first "proper" no restrictions one we shot post covid so it'll always have a special place in our memories. It's saf ..read more
