I’m sure all our customers are aware of our 2021 acquisition by TelcoSwitch, but anyone who missed that can see more here: https://telcoswitch.com/press-release-telcoswitch-acquires-surevoip-to-enhance-sme-presence-and-network-capabilities/ Since then we have been working hard to integrate our services with the larger group, to take on new products and services and ensure continued evolution of the services we provide to new and existing customers. There has been a lot of knowledge-sharing across the group, and Gavin and the Technical Team at SureVoIP have contributed hugely to developments an ..read more

5 Times a Phone Call Changed the World
SureVoIP Blog

There have been many landmarks in the history of communication. The first smudged record of ourselves left daubed on cave walls indicates a desire to pass on some message to others. Likewise, the first writings, and the first printed text. Technology opened the way for other, faster communications. The telegram, radio transmissions, even signalling lamps used at sea. They are all ways of passing a message from one place to another, without having to run over there whilst remembering something (the modern Marathon is a recreation of just such an event, where a messenger is thought to have run ..read more

Make The BT Big Switch Off Work For You
SureVoIP Blog

In just two years, BT will be ‘switching off’ the standard phone network in the UK. Two years will go by quickly. It doesn’t seem long ago we were discussing vaccine options, what order ‘hands, face & space’ went in, and the Suez canal being blocked by the Ever Given container ship. But that was all in 2021. A lot can happen in two years. We become overwhelmed with world news, politics, economics. Even Sam Smith’s trousers contribute to our collective sensory overload. Planning ahead is probably a good idea – especially where one of your company’s main communication channels is concerned ..read more

Coping with Communicating Post-Pandemic
SureVoIP Blog

From our attitudes to hygiene, to personal space, the global pandemic changed everything. Social gatherings took on a slightly worrying turn, and were replaced by social media. Shaking hands was replaced by elbow bumps. Face to face by virtual meetings. We were all one sneeze away from being socially ostracised. British culture has pulled up from this dark place, like a plucky little aircraft pulling up to crest a mountain. Face masks are rarer now, and fewer people are drinking their daily quota of hand sanitiser. But some traits have remained. Working from home, for instance. It wasn’t th ..read more

So – you’re a Department Manager, and you’re boss has just tasked you with transferring the whole company over to using VoIP. Should you be worried, and if so, about what? Firstly, moving to VoIP is a positive move for your company, so don’t worry too much. It comes with a number of advantages, such as improved call quality, flexibility for users, an improved feature-set and lower costs. There are some things which will need a bit of input, and you will have a few decisions to make at some points of the process. But overall, if you have a reasonably clear idea of your requirements, and you’re ..read more

VoIP: A How To Guide
SureVoIP Blog
by Paul Forrest

Is it a noun? Is it a verb? Do you have to VoIP? Do you order one VoIP please? As the changed workplace we find ourselves settles into a normality, the way we communicate has changed dramatically. Once the preserve of self-conscious family conversations over a social media platform at Christmas, internet-based phone calls have become the norm. As the heavy, complex machine that is BT grinds towards switching off the traditional UK phone network in 2025, most large companies are looking seriously at their telecoms contracts. With this in mind, we will briefly run over the top things to bear in ..read more

You will surely all be aware by now that SureVoIP was acquired by TelcoSwitch in 2021. TelcoSwitch is a leading provider of unified communications and compliance solutions, and lists in both the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 and FT 1000 Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies. The partnership between our two companies has strengthened over the last year or so, as we’ve got to know each other. As part of the family, we were invited to a company-wide online meeting this week. This was the announcement of the next stage of the company’s growth. Technology – The Unsung Hero During the Pandemic

As we move cautiously into a post-pandemic world, reviewing the past events is only natural. It may be hard to see at first, but there are many positive points floating around in the gloom of the last couple of years. Neighbourhoods started to pull together in a way they hadn’t before, the general public adjusted surprisingly quickly to a new behavioural norm. Workplaces evolved at an amazing pace, driven by worker health concerns and a desire to protect the population as a whole. Travelling less and making contact with others less often became as important as wearing a mask, or washing your ..read more
