Greece installed 1.59 GW of solar in 2023, bringing the country's cumulative PV capacity to 7.1 GW by the end of December.
Greece’s public administration does not have an institution that publishes regular energy statistics for all technologies and supporting schemes. Different institutions therefore often publish reports covering different segments of the market, generating confusion about the nation's installed power capacity.
Dapeep, which is Greece’s renewable energy sources operator, is such an example. Dapeep said that Greece installed 1.183 MW of new PV capacity in 2023, dominated by gr ..read more

Australian researchers have calculated the levelised cost of green hydrogen under different installed capex scenarios for 2030. They also looked into the different possible sizing of PEM electrolyzers.
Australia's Griffith University researchers have analyzed the levelized cost of green hydrogen (LCOH) under varying conditions. The study used the case study of a PV or wind turbine (WT) based hydrogen production plant in Queensland, with the basis year of 2030.
“For hydrogen to play its role in the transition to net zero, the cost of production must decrease,” corresponding author, Mostafa Reza ..read more

The organic cell retained 89% of its initial performance after being immersed in water for four hours and survived a washing machine cycle. The researchers plan to develop the technology further, with an end goal of using it for wearable devices.
Organic photovoltaics (OPV) have been proposed as suitable for wearable electronics that are attached to clothing to monitor medical devices without requiring battery changes. This latest research opens possibilities that solar cells could be put onto clothes and still function correctly after being rained on or even washed.
With this in mind, researc ..read more
