When I last made cinnamon rolls on here, I was in a creative foodie exploration phase and overcomplicated the recipe by 200 fold. This past weekend in Cashiers NC, the weather was chilly, the leaves were dropping and it just seemed like my only option was to measure some flour and make the fluffiest cinnamon roll recipe.  I’ve decided to uncomplicate this recipe and break it down to the basics and help you craft your best fluffy cinnamon roll recipe. I have a few helpful tips up my sleeve to help you navigate some challenges that you may encounter along the way.  How long do Cinna ..read more

The Only Pot Roast Recipe You’ll Ever Need

It’s about to be Fall which means I’m anxiously awaiting the opportunity to make my favorite pot roast recipe. My favorite thing about this pot roast recipe is it encourages interacting with my Atlanta community. I buy my chuck roast from Evergreen Butcher & Baker in Kirkwood, the veggies I source from my favorite Farmers Markets, and the bread I make from my sourdough starter given to me by a classmate at school. This bowl of soup is a direct result of being engaged in and supporting the small businesses around me that I love so dearly. However, it’s totally possible (and highly encourag ..read more

Although this Fall may look a little different with a few stylish face coverings as you go to carry on about your Fall activities, one thing remains the same: the craving for autumnal flavors and hearty meals. On a recent trip to Cashiers NC, we indulged in a few cinnamon spice donuts at Mountain Fresh Grocery and I knew, as soon as September hit in Atlanta, I’d have to make these at home. Although these may be a bit different (baked not fried, pumpkin spice not cinnamon spice), these pumpkin spice donuts definitely channel all the comfy fall feelings I crave this time of year.  First t ..read more

This rustic peach tart recipe combines familiar spices with super-ripe Georgia peaches and pre-made pie crust for an incredibly easy and flavorful dessert. This recipe is inspired by the delicious flavors of summer in the South and creating easy, wholesome desserts the whole family will love.  This is one of those magical years where the peach crop is somewhat like the Grand Cru reserve of a nice bottle of champagne. It only happens every so often when the winters are just cold enough to give the trees in North Georgia a thorough frosting which ends up producing juicy, plump peaches all ..read more

FINALLY, my exhaustive ice cream trials have yielded the smoothest, creamiest, homemade ice cream. Okay, maybe exhaustive is a little bit of a stretch but after 4 rounds of grainy, large ice crystal ice cream production, I was starting to get a little discouraged. How come I couldn’t make super creamy ice cream? Was my milk/ cream quality not rich enough? NOPE. Turns out I needed to add a little boozy ingredient to keep large ice crystals from forming during the chilling process to make these best peach ice cream ever. Or best ice cream ever. Once you try it, you can let me know.  Turn ..read more

Doesn’t Taste Like Dairy Free Blueberry Muffins

I didn’t intend for these muffins to be dairy-free. Honest. I have whole milk and unsalted butter in my fridge right now. I also had almond-milk based yogurt and light oat milk in the fridge and figured, heck, if anyone were to make a flavorful and chewy-almost-good-for-you-blueberry-muffin, it might as well be me. So, thus these became dairy free blueberry muffins, but I’m certain that when I go to make them non-dairy free in the future, they will be just as good. The measurements are the same so feel free to swap at your convenience!    When I had a physical earlier this year th ..read more
