Exhaustion and Proliferation are two twenty five minute compositions played by the Insub Meta Orchestra. Both pieces were crafted by Cyril Bondi and d’incise with the guidance of Ed Williams for sonic delivery.    The Insub Meta Orchestra is part of the Insub project based out of Genève, Switzerland. The project being all things, a label, an orchestra, a recording studio and a concert organizer. Here are the current members of the orchestra. The two pieces being listened to and described now are new to the catalog of the Texas label Sawyer Editions. Exhaustion, a strikingly beautifu ..read more

This descriptive note begins with a thank you to Arvo Zylo and his work with the No Part of It label. Watching The Void: A Smattering of Panic Records & Tapes - Various Artists (1984-1990) has been resting in a small stack of compact discs sent to Lost in a Sea of Sound for a year and a half. Earlier this week i listened to Watching The Void, not just a fly through, but a real blank canvas ready for sound to be poured on kind of listen. This is the only way to properly begin comprehension on how fantastic this compilation really is. Raw, beautiful, thought provoking, innovative, creative ..read more

The horn bellows deep within the mist filled forest. A drone of ambient darkness charges the dense molecular atmosphere. The conscious braces for a myriad of sonic fascinations and Castle Anthrax delivers with beautiful resonance. The sounds within balance with meditative blissfulness and ratcheted experimental extremes. Tuba and chimes on the second track titled "glow-worm" saturates thoughts while pulling in infinite directions. Familiar sonic footholds seem to swirl beneath as tumultuous sounds billow out as thick smoke from the fire. The is a connection to the forest in these tones. Breath ..read more

Equalizer..... Tim Six, Cosmic Winnetou, thank you for such an ambient heavy. "Heavy" describing how tremendously soothing these sounds explode in incredible slow motion. Tones and timbre within drifting the gossamer ethereal. A composition centered around the conscious quiet, saturated with the ever present aural radiance. We bask in this proposition each living moment, a simple fixture degenerated by the chaos of the surrounding world. Equalizier charges the organic gooieness, time and space warmed and relinquished of perpetual responsibility. Two side long tracks fueled by an understanding ..read more

Teetering on a precipice beyond measure, the world below wanes focus. Strings from Kari Watson's Enclosures composition hold the conscious in relative place. Guy wires descending out of sight to a surface of both serenity and tumult. Thoughts pulled like a bow in directional chaos, each measure a counterweight providing listening stability. Resonance ascending from below, aromas from an immense cauldron being stirred over time. Enclosures is a beautiful composition of aural balance. Kari Watson explores the sonic fringe with crystalline acuity, sounds so patient and decisive, we listen on the ..read more

PJS - Spirals

A cosmic long duration heavy burner. Spirals, the elliptical sonic approach towards van Maanen's Star. Intensities of tumultuous nuclear fission long extinguished, only light from residual thermal energy remains. Magnificently PJS channels this blackbody radiation, the opening track delphi in accord with the stars billions of years existence. Now, the final glow of luminosity as light slowly fades away in perfect aural script with Spiral's second track Coral. Light years beyond, the coruscation of an infinite sea of radiant bodies draws interest. The third track, Observation gently thrusts lis ..read more

Smiling listening to Summer Scaries, while at the sonic gym in a full circuit workout for the conscious. The brain burn is intense, at least for the opening track "Reach". Quickly after the initial onslaught of static, feedback and towering noise, Summer Scaries finds rhythm. These sounds are still raw though, the beat a degenerating ghost of fuzzy radio waves. Interestingly, with the fifth track "Furbeeoke" the decomposing theme is a chiptune epic soundtrack for a lost video game. The sonic format rapidly vanishes and any measure of music dissipates leaving the emptiness to wandering noises o ..read more

Reality has shifted or tilted askew. A repositioning done non ceremoniously but solidified with the second installment of a sonic"ly" attune Rope Worm slash John-Peter Hasson release. The first over a year ago and change, Massage & Spa by JP Inc. Now, kicking off 2025 is the release being talked about with these words by Hasco Enjoyments, titled Wow! Another John-Peter Hasson project. Wow! seems to combine the early eighties feel of Steve Roach with everything the GALTTA label was doing out of Brooklyn and Philadelphia. An ambient album filled with lonely tones from the dessert southw ..read more
