This week, New Riff Distilling and Silver Grove Community Foundation opened a new park at Green Valley Pond in celebration of Earth Day. Funds for the park were raised through sales of the New Riff Silver Grove Commemorative Edition. New Riff is based in Newport, Kentucky. Whiskey House of Kentucky has confirmed that hiring for its senior management team is complete. The Whiskey House distillery is planned to begin production on 1 July 2024.  Developed by the same team behind the Bardstown Bourbon Company, Whiskey House will have no brands of its own, instead focusing on contract distillation for customer brands.  Thus far, Whiskey House has assembled a team of 18 from across the whiskey sector. Keeneland Racecourse and Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon have announced the launch of Greats of the Gate, a new 10-year commemorative bottle series celebrating some of racing’s most iconic horses. A different horse will feature in each of the 10 years. The inaugural bottling will honor Lexington-foaled Man o’ War, who competed from 1919 to 1920, winning 20 of 21 races. Return of 12-year-old Rye from Bulleit Frontier after five years

After five years, and much demand from its fans, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has announced the return of its 12 year old American Straight Rye Whiskey. The 12 year old uses the same mash bill as the brand’s flagship Rye: 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Aged and matured in new charred American white oak barrels for a minimum of 12 years, this 2024 release includes whiskey from barrels aged up to 17 years in the blend. Watershed Distillery releases Batch 002 of Uncut Unfiltered Bourbon

Watershed Distillery has announced the release of its batch 002 of Uncut Unfiltered Bourbon, now available at Ohio-based liquor stores. The bourbon spent over four years in barrel and has been bottled at 125.4 proof (62.7% ABV) without added water or filtration.  The producers have described the expression as having aromas of split vanilla bean and toasted oak, with similar notes on the palate along with apricot and walnut before for a lingering finish. Baltimore, Maryland distillery Old Line Spirits has announced its newest whiskey. 51 Rye Whiskey is made in collaboration with Monument City Brewing Co, using the same grains as the brewer’s 51 Rye IPA. High n’ Wicked has announced the release of its first cask strength rye and its newest cask strength bourbon expressions, both with a limited release. High n’ Wicked Straight Rye Whiskey uses a five-year aged sour mash and a mash bill of 91% rye and 9% malted barley.
