I’ve never had pastrami before, so how does it compare with the pastrami you get in British supermarkets like Aldi? Is our supermarket pastrami anywhere near comparable to what you’d get in a takeaway, cafe or restaurant in NYC ..read more

Hi, I really like Sainsbury’s decaf coffee pods that are compatible with Nespresso machines. But a lot of the time the decaffeination processes use solvents. I can’t find out which method they use which makes me think they probably use solvents. I’ve tried many other makes but none taste as good. If anybody has any info or idea as to how I can find out I’d be very grateful ..read more

The avocado I had today with my lunch was one of the best I have ever eaten, just the right level of ripeness and sweetness, it hadn't lost all its flavour from being kept in a chill cabinet for weeks on end. Avocados can be really bland when they've been kept chilled for weeks on end. Sadly, this one was the exception ..read more

No doubt the lawyers have been all over it, but I find it annoying ..read more

I was browsing online and checked out Sainsbury's Freefrom range. As we have allergies/intolerances, I'm always very careful about ingredients. Anyway, came across some Sainsbury's Freefrom Garlic Chicken Kiev and was pleased to see the UK flag on the box as I try to support British farmers whenever I can. However when I read further down the package I came across the following "Packaged in UK", which doesn't mean the chicken didn't come from UK but wherever it's from they're not telling. So I was wondering: (1) What do you think of that and (2) Have you come across anything similar ..read more

Don't do it, It was worth a try, but they burnt before they started to cook and there is not really enough room. Tried them in the halogen as well, but the same thing. Best way is in the normal oven. Not made them for years, nice homemade ginger nuts, also made some cheese scones ..read more
